Suggestion: Add Paste to replace function on UI3
Would be very useful when trying to apply different “branding” or styles using variables to be able to apply font styles as well. Currently we can only add numbers, colours, string, boolean.
To be able to scrub on the zoom amount to change the zoom size without having to click the field or type a number in and without the dropdown menu coming out.
How am I supposed to build muscle memory with UI 3 if elements keep shifting depending on what’s selected? In the previous UI, all essential controls—position, size, and clipping—were consistently located at the top, and their looks rarely change. In theory regrouping properties based on their type is a cool idea but in reality it create so much friction as it takes an extra moment to reorient with each new selection. and having all properties contained in boxes isnt helping. Please consider either restoring the previous structure or providing an option to use the old structure. While I could revert to the old UI for now, it’s unclear how long that option will remain available.
I’m really missing the capability to animate objects in slides. To for example just simply click to reveal is bare minimum for me. Yes I can create 4 slides to make it seem like I click to reveal as a workaround. And when it comes to smart animate I would like some control about time and speed of the animation.
I think “Every” Figma users must connect each frame with arrow line. But we cannot copy properties of arrow. Every times I have to draw line and select start point and end arrow head. Please let the properties able to be copied and paste properties. It should be super helpful.
The latest Figma is really good but Can we get an edit in photoshop and illustrator option as well for image and vector edit?
This tool bar take a big place on the board.
I would love if we could be able to define variables by referencing other variables. So for instance for numbers, (Var 3) = (Var 1) + (Var 2). An example use case would be creating a counter badge on a checkout icon that increases as different a user adds products to the cart from an array of cards. You can set variables in this way with an interaction in a prototype but it’s really time consuming having to add and maintain Set Variable interactions across several buttons.

Whenever a “Style” is backed by a “Variable”, like how we do typography style changes, it doesn’t show the values change in the design panel, even though that’s what’s actually going on in the UI and backend. I noticed that switching to Dev Mode shows the correct values though. Is there a plan to fix this?
Hi! One thing thats great about standard Figma is if you paste an image to replace a current one it only changes the image itself, not the format. In slides pasting to replace removes any formatting, so if you have scaled an image and then paste to replace it with a new image, it doesn’t adopt the scaling of of the original.
Currently, the only way to set a default mode of a variable collection is for an Admin of a Enterprise level plan to set that up in the library settings. Proposed solution is to allow users to define which mode is the default. As a team of designers who use variables on a Professional level plan, this requires us to remember to change our default mode as our default has now changed from when we first created our library and variables. Ideally, we could right click the table header of the variable mode name, and “Set as default”. Thanks!
Hi Figma, Yesterday 10.09.2024, I was able to group sections and frames together by pressing ctrl+g. However, today that option no longer works. Here’s an image for reference: left side shows sections and frames grouped, while the right side shows sections and frames unable to be grouped. Currently, I’m unsure if this was a feature or a bug; either or, it would be nice to have this ability reinstated, as I found it to be quite useful when organizing my work, thanks! 🥳
I’ve encountered a situation where I need to set “Case” in type settings differently across modes in a system. Some of the brands I work with require all caps for headings, while others do not. This variation is often due to brand guidelines, and in some cases, it’s a contractual obligation between partner brands. Currently, this means managing case settings outside of Figma variables, often through a style sheet, which increases the risk of these settings being overlooked by designers. The alternative would be duplicating multiple styles for each brand, but this approach feels inefficient and cumbersome. Is there a better way to manage text case variations using Figma variables without duplicating styles?
Currently, the number (#000) of a comment is not shown in the active panel. This is only shown in the overview list. Showing on an active panel prevents additional searching. If a comment panel is active, you have to manually scroll to it in the overview list. This should actually be shown automatically (at the top of the list). This prevents an additional action from the user.
Imagine an interactive prototype of a dynamic table interface. This table contains various components such as rows, dropdowns, and other elements that list information, typically user data. The key feature of this prototype is its ability to demonstrate how users can manipulate the table’s content in real-time. For example, consider a scenario where you’re showcasing the functionality of sorting users alphabetically. The prototype allows you to switch between ascending and descending order. To achieve this, you need to reorder the individual row instances within the parent table instance. This functionality not only applies to sorting but also extends to changing the quantity of displayed items or rearranging them based on different criteria. The prototype’s interactivity enables users to experience these dynamic changes, providing a realistic simulation of the final product’s behavior.
Hi, Just share my point of view, the new Interface of the design panel feels like too clean? and I’m got a bit lost with the design tools when first time come to it. My ideas is turn the design tool’s component to black background and white icon to make the contracts out.
It would be really helpful if we could easily refer to the concepts/wireframes created in FigJam while working in a Figma design file. Currently we have to either switch between the tabs or copy paste stuff which is a real hassle. Figma already does a great job of covering product design cycle by having Design > Prototype > Dev modes. It just seems logical to add one more mode before the Design that involves FigJam. I thought split tabs would have solved for this but it did not. Maybe the above approach in combination with split tabs could address the problem.
Hi when doing a user test I’d like to preset some of the prototype options so that user don’t have to do it at the beginning of the test. Ex : I have to ask him to close the side pannel, then Uncheck “Show Hints” on click, then click on “Fit with” then click on “Hide UI”. That is a lot of action that I’d prefer to preset on my own for them.
Hi there, there are projects where I need the 100% look of the final product. But smaller system fonts below 16px are too much softened by figmas standard font renderer. That fonts even gets a tick smaller than on the browsers engine. There is no possibility to change the antialias(render)type to get a sharper text. I havn’t found any possible solution yet. Of course it helps a bit by using “Round to pixels”, but i doesn’t change the smaller appearance of the font when i compare it to a browsers font the same size. I just need it a bit sharper ☀️ Working with softened fonts will never look as the final product nor it will be satisfying while putting color on small text inside the tables. Colors make them look so wishy washi. Will that be a viable idea? kind regards
How do I select multiple objects without drawing a box around them? For instance if I want to select a few objects that are on top of a bunch of other objects I can’t select all with the marquee because it selects the background objects too.
button icon FULL SIZE DESKTOP APP SCREEN. I DONT WANT TO SEE THE TOOL BAR OF MY DESKTOP WINDOW 11
I’d like to reduce the smoothing on the pencil tool, so I can use it to quickly sketch in little placeholder icons and even introduce handwriting. Right now, the amount of smoothing makes the pencil tool almost useless for this.
Would be nice to be able to color code the square next to the starred files to make them easily distinguishable.
