As the title says.We work with branches and do not work inside the screens themselves as it's easy to lose what's part of the handover and what's not for both devs and designers. Therefore, we have a separate "Handover"-page where we display what's relevant for the specific task/ticket. To make this work more seamlessly with merging branches later, we turn some screens in components and copy the instances to this "Handover"-page. However, the annotations do not come along with it and requires us to annotate twice - on both the component and the instance.
Currently there’s no way to have different prototype settings (device mainly) within pages. I have to rely on creating different pages for desktop and mobile flows. Which is not efficient for large companies where you’re working on so many features.Would love to have a feature where your flows automatically adapts device setting based on frame size. So I could basically have desktop prototype and mobile prototype side by side.
Dear Figma, I really enjoy your app!Thank you!At the same time, I find it really annoying that I cannot open up a file in a new tab from the home screen. This inconvieniences me in two ways. First of all, I cannot open multiple files at once becuase once I click on one file, the homepage is gone. What I have been doing instead is researching for Figma in the search bar, to come back to another homepage and open another file. It is highly inefficient. In addition, when I am already on a file, and I would like to view the homepage, or open another file, there is no way to do so. In order to view the homepage I have to leave my current file. This is annoying. As you can see, not having the option to open my projects in a new tab significantly degrades my user experience. In order to solve this problem, I suggest you make an option to open the file in new tab, such as in Google Docs or Canva, so that I can easily return to the homescreen while still keeping my file tab open, and open two file
Usually, we designer will have a lot of pages in the left panel, but when we give this link to other team, such as sales, or developers, they only can see the about the top 5 pages, they don’t know there are still pages until they hover that area. Can we make this more obvious, something like add content bottom area shadow and always visible scrollbar and etc. Give more difference between pages and layers these two sections.
Hi! I would like to suggest a feature for creating and modifying graphs/charts natively on Figma.I design a lot of dashboards on a daily basis and unfortunately, each chart I encounter, I have to manually create and then use them as just placeholders (and sometimes the devs and stakeholders really need to see the real numbers on the designs, and it takes a lot of time to modify them).I would love it if there were a tool on Figma that allowed us to:Create (at least) pie, donut, line and bar charts; Export and import the chart data as .csv; Modify chart data and have it changed in the chart design; Apply styles and variants to the chart design; Enable chart legend.PowerPoint and Adobe Illustrator have this type of functionality, so it would make sense to have it on Figma too.
The year is 2025 and we still don't have the option to organize our files ourselves... frustrating!A segmentation feature ("templates") was released (I believe, to meet this need) where it is possible to distinguish between icons, illustrations, shapes, colors. However, unfortunately, we were not given the autonomy to do this ourselves. In other words, this predefined segmentation of "icons, illustrations, shapes, colors" is only valid for public files that have been published in the community.I've seen some people reporting here how horrible it is to deal with files in Figma when you are an agency or when you are working in a team, but in fact this lack of autonomy when managing files is also felt by a solo user like me who likes to switch between different types of icons, illustrations, mockups, 3D images, style guides, design systems, etc., but cannot do this easily because the files are scattered throughout the interface with filters of questionable quality. Finally, my feature sugg
Annotations and Measurements - when attached to an item, option to hide when item hidden.
While in prototype mode, try dragging the screen or interactive elements in multiple directions—left, right, up, and down—to test how the interface responds to user gestures and transitions.
I heavily use FigJam daily and it's a core part of my workflow.Lately though, there's been a noticeable shift in how drawing works with the Apple Pencil, both in the FigJam and Figma apps on iPad. It feels like there’s now an invisible hand smoothing out my lines in real time. It seems to be introduced in order to compensate for shaky input, but the current implementation is just too much. So much so that writing or sketching quickly and naturally has become nearly impossible. It is interfering with our own natural assistance system, our own eyes. And now it feels like I’m fighting a ghost version of my own hand.If there’s a setting to tone it down or switch it off, that would be a lifesaver. Or just completely roll it back.Regards
1. Variable/Library Connection in Prototyping Overlay BackgroundsWhile Figma Libraries and Variables are brilliant tools, I noticed a gap:Buried Access: Picking colors from the library for overlay backgrounds is buried under multiple clicks and is not intuitive.Static Colors: Even after picking a library color, it behaves statically (just a hex/opacity). This means if the library color changes, the prototype overlay doesn’t reflect that update.Suggestion:Provide an upfront, dynamic option to pick colors from the library directly in the prototype panel. If the library is updated, the overlay should also automatically update. 2. No Memory of Overlay Background ColorsFor multiple overlays in a prototype, I have to set the background color manually for each one. While Figma remembers certain settings like Smart Animate (e.g., it retains the last-used easing and duration, reducing repetitive effort), it does not do this for colors. The overlay background color always defaults to #000000 25%
I work in the design system team, and we’re constantly updating and publishing the Figma component library. This is great for users who already have design files: They can choose whether or not to accept our updates. BUT for designers starting work on a NEW file, they can only use the current version of the Figma library components. That may sound ideal, but it’s not. Here’s why: Often product engineering teams are some way behind the changes that we publish in the Design System team. They simply may not be able to implement those changes quickly, or possibly, at all. Their designers may want to work with previous versions of the Figma library in order to design TO THE PRODUCT. If they are forced to use the current library, this can cause confusion in the product teams, because devs and QA won’t be able to work to or check against those designs. Could the lovely Figma guys somehow allow designers to choose which version of a library they pull assets from?
The figma buzz hasn’t fix one of figma ‘s big problem, which is heavy file size I use buzz to export some of the social post, but they take up to 2-4mb just because I need the social post to have good enough resolution
What I can’t stand the most is that the panels of the new UI can’t be attached to the edges. They leave some gaps, wasting the space to display the main design and operation area. And visually, these gaps are also distracting my attention. The toolbar at the bottom also interferes with the main operation space, especially if its color is the same as my design draft. By the way, is it just for the convenience of novices to move it from the top to the bottom? If someone who uses Figma more frequently, he will use shortcuts instead of mouse clicks to trigger these functions. So I hope that adjustments can be made in time in the official version of UI3, otherwise these redesign will seem like a subjective conjecture of someone who doesn’t use Figma much.
Hello,In the UI3 when you switch to light mode the topbar becomes transparent-grey, other than looking like a UI from 90s, it does not pass the contrast test! Contrast test results:It used to be black like this (even in the UI3), and everyone was happy with it, please bring this back:
I lead a team of designers and when i log into our project I want to sort by most recently edited; i want to see all the stuff thats been/being worked on since the last time i looked. This must be a common use case. What am I missing?
I have a site where I’m using Grid mode for 4 columns. On Tablet I want that to grid to change to 2 columns, and 1 column for mobile.Right now it seems you can only increase the number of columns on other breakpoints, not decrease it. That’s a major feature that makes grids useful.Any TBD on when it might get solved?
Totally lost. I pasted an image. Here is my list of try and error after then:The image was far too large and I wanted to resize it by using a handle on the top left corner (the only corner I could see). It moved around instead. I looked in the menu to the right of the screen to find some formatting options. Therein was a symbol showing the figure next to a “100%” without any explanation. So I expected this to be the size of the image and typed 25, to then see it become transparent and almost invisible. Ctrl-Z. Then next, I did Ctrl-F to search for “size” and found nothing. But now, the buttons on the right are missing.I am afraid I have to tell you that Figma desperately needs some kind of introductury tutorial...
Please check the video.https://share.cleanshot.com/F4WbvN1jEvery time I use “rewrite” I have to press “open actions” shortcut 3 times to make it actually open again. Looks like a bug in UX but probably just the code.On a broader term, why push ai features and make them this interruptive?
It would be really handy to be able to set your own defoult settings for adding new section. I always use specific background color and corner radius and I need to change that each time I am creating new section it is really abundant work...
Is there a way to export some frames as one pdf? When I click export > PDF, it exports all frames as individual PDFs which is not what I want. I have lots of frames in this file. Say 1000s. I need to export 17 as a PDF.
Just like how GitHub has the “Forking” feature where, we make our own personal copy of a public file so to edit it freely, without effecting the original. This way alot of other people can contribute to the file and help in improving it, adding new features or fixing problemsIt would be great to have such “Remix” ability to the community files so a bunch of people together can contribute in keeping files up-to-date. For examples, community files for Shadcn UI are outdated, they have not been updated for 2 years due to sheer amount of work. With remix, anybody can help in updating these files without the need of a primary dependency.Thanks.
The function GRID doesn’t work as function WRAP.It is absurd that if do I delete an element into the autolayout, in grid it remains a empty space. In Wrap Mode it didn’t happen, elements naturally stacked due to the rules of padding set in autolayout. With GRID mode there is NO CONSISTENCY in padding. NOW, the GRID rules. So if do I set a vertical padding 10px, BUT the grid does not “afford” that padding, IT’S THE GRID THAT WIN, padding change, but I don’t have any information about this changement (just zooming in and checking manually). Moreover, with Wrap Mode, if did I resize the frame of the autolayout - with all the elements inside in Fill container - especially after the introduction of the precious Ratio function) - the elements would had resized. Now, not!Elements go off the grid.Changing a grid already existing is IMPOSSIBLE through the new GUI.It is impossible to ALIGN things in the grid.Joseph Muller Brockmann would be very unhappy :( Everything doesn’t work. This new tool has
Please update the feature for printing purpose. Because If I want to print magazines , brouchers at all and and multiple pages option also. I go for adobe only. Please include this feature to coming up more users into figma .I hope you update this feature as soon as possible.
新版UI界面功能太难用了,能不能弄回旧版本,网格布局那些全部没了,用起来好别扭
