When a component has a “on click” interaction, in the prototype view, we see the pointer cursor once we hover over the component. That is ok I wish I could also get a pointer cursor when setting the interaction to “while hovering” and “Mouse enter/leave”. I imagine having a check into the interaction frame to “force pointer cursor”. Why? Because hover interaction on buttons and other UI elements are more clear when we also get the visual clue of the cursor changing. (This is now a universal usability treat, so users are more likely to understand what is going on when the cursor changes) If the cursor don’t change, but the state of the button changes visually, it creates a very tiny friction until the user realizes that this is a hover interaction minus the cursor changing. My personal work around on this looks like this:

I’m shocked, to be honest and you guys should consider changing it. I just tried to get the local variables and use them in my vscode project. 

This is great but there are some cases when a user want’s to bring in a component from another library that has variables attached that you no longer want to use. Say you are building a new library with it’s own variable styles. At the moment there is no way to just detach the current variables when you bring in a component from another library. You have to manually comb through the component and try to find all of the instances where there are variables being referenced from the outside library. Very time consuming! It would be a life saver to add another option to the quick options panel to “detach all variables”. This way a user could start fresh and add new variables to the component and have no references to the an outside library.

Ability to archive a page within a Figma file I often have a lot of pages in a Figma file for draft/random work. As soon as I am done with the work, I rarely visit the page again and would like to archive it. I do not want to delete it as I might need to reuse something from there.

Please make Dev Mode Annotations visible by all roles, not just Full Dev Mode seats. This can become costly for users needing context but not all the other dev-mode features. Here’s the scenario: We have a dashboard, with cards showing a customer’s account status. This status can be mapped from multiple back-end statuses, to show just one front-end status. For example, any of the following could be mapped to a single status known to the customer as “Completed”: canceled, terminated, sold, complete, etc. This is something that the developer needs to reference, but then also the PM needs to reference in writing tickets (who doesn’t need full dev-mode access), the QE needs to reference for testing automations, and various other individuals on our team. Placing it in a comment makes it less clearly attached to the specific piece of the design, and requires us to keep documentation dispersed among different tools (Jira, Confluence, Figma etc). I am writing this after having lost time on rewriting annotations multiple times because lost after clicking outside. The problem occurs mostly when wanting to get back to Move tool by clicking the icon in the toolbar. Replicate:Press Y or choose Annotation tool Click the frame on canvas Type your annotation Do not select category Click Mov tool (or any tool) in the toolbar (or select a layer) Annotation is lostI would honestly expect that the annotation gets preserved, same way it is preserved when clicking in the canvas.Otherwise, it could be preserved in edit mode, but yet not saved, like when I continue to interact with properties sidebar or scrolling.But not lost.

Stroke is a very basic and commonly used feature. In my workflow, I often need to create multiple strokes on a single object, as shown in the image.Although Figma supports multiple strokes, all strokes share the same property and have only one width value. As a result, even when multiple strokes are added, they overlap completely. This makes adding multiple strokes essentially meaningless.I suggest allowing each stroke layer to have its own independent width property. 

With the increasing popularity of iPads among creative professionals and the device's capabilities now rivaling many laptops — especially with Apple Pencil support and desktop-class processors — it’s surprising that a leading design platform like Figma hasn't released a fully functional iPad app. Is this a matter of strategic prioritization, where Figma believes the current user base doesn’t demand it strongly enough to justify development resources? Or is it due to technical limitations, perhaps stemming from the complexities of maintaining feature parity with the desktop/web version on iPadOS? Alternatively, is Figma's vision more aligned with a cloud-first, desktop-class browser experience, where portability across devices takes a backseat to collaborative infrastructure? This is so annoying. I shouldn’t have to use the web version to disable this. FIGMA should allow me to turn this off in the settings. I don’t use Figma every day and I certainly don’t want it to open every time I log in. Clearly, this has annoyed several users but you fail to listen. STOP FORCING ME TO OPEN FIGMA AT LOGIN!!

This should be standard for all text in any context, especially a sticky. Mural does this and it always comes in handy. Anyway, yelling into the void mostly.

I have been using Figma Make to mockup websites I plan to create elsewhere. I have found that many times a prompt I request on a section will make changes to another, unrelated section that I did not request edits to. And because there is no “undo” button, I lose the contents on the section I did not wish to have revised. I’m wondering if there is a way to lock sections that have been finalized so that no prompts on other sections have an effect on unrelated sections. Like a toggle lock and unlock so AI doesn’t mess up an already great section when I didn’t ask it to. 

I want a shortcut to show and hide / expand or collapse the pages and layers panel. If I got one I’d want the pages panel to open and close by keyboard shortcut. It’s too much work to constantly open and close the pages panel. Overall, I’d say that the pages panel needs a UX review. We’ve now got so many pages that it’s a tough experience, but I’d say that if I could choose a page from a dropdown list as opposed to opening and closing the dang panel everytime that would be awesome. Or, ideally what if when I hit page up or down the magic menu (command + p) or whatever it is called displays all pages that I can search on quickly or use the arrows to thumb through them. Some mail applications to do this today for UG folders and it’s way nicer than trying to find a folder. Maybe use that AI money for things like this and not trying to tell me what names my buttons ought to be. ;) 

We’ve come to a point where our team is using Figma Make, we want the ability to add a default (maybe prepend to?) Guidelines.md that we can configure at the team admin level. This would allow us to setup specific style and background information in a standardized fashion across all projects by our team.

The comments feature is very handy amongst the colleagues. It would be nice if the comments bubbles would stick to the object instead of sticking to the position within the frame. Since we are moving stuff around ( adding or subtracting elements ) the comments made should stick to the proper parts of the design. Otherwise, when we move things around, the comments don’t make sense anymore because they do not relate to the object’s new position.

When viewing styles as a read-only seat/license, there’s no way to view the values used in the style. This applies to text styles, color styles, and effect styles from what I’ve seen. Hitting the settings button for a given style just opens a popover with a preview image and a repeated name for the style. The export button doesn’t seem to do anything, either.   

I created a component, with some variant and properties.This component is then used in a Buzz template. This is then used to create social media assets.  When I first copy-past the component into the Buzz template file, the properties are here (all of them), and as soon as I publish the templates, they di (see attached screenshots).Also, the nested properties work perfectly.This is weird, is there anything I’m doing wrong, I don’t get it.And I also noticed, that basically I cannot add Variant properties in a Buzz file, it just doesn’t work. Maybe there is a bug on and that is why it removes my orignal properties ?  

There’s currently no way to wrap text around an object like an icon, spot illustration, or image. The only solution is to manually break the copy into 2 text boxes and add the second one underneath the icon. We had big plans for our design system to include scaled variants of components where text would need to wrap around icons and spot illustrations to save screen space. So not having this feature makes it hard to design for accessibility and see how components will scale. It’s a little tricky to get the line height right, and also means we can’t easily add scaled variants to our existing design system library. It’s also stopping us from creating a plugin where designers could stress test their designs with larger accessible fonts. Would be great if Figma could add this as a feature. Has anyone else had this issue? Is anyone using a plugin or workaround to help solve this?

I love variables, they make lives easier. But would it be possible to combine multiple variables in one click. For instance, I design a lot of cards in UI, and they all have a grey outline (var 1) with a 5px border (var 2) and a 20 px padding (var 3), and I have to add them one by one. Could I just define those 3 variables in 1master variable so I only have to apply that master variable? Creating a card component isn’t the solution for me as many cards can have different internal layouts.

As a figma user I want the option to add a synonym or abbreviation to my profile to speed up the commenting process in the design files.E.g. I’d like to show my real name for the other users, but I’d also like them to refer to me with just typing my initials. 

When working in frames with Clip content enabled, I still end up selecting layers that are outside the visible area of the frame.Current behavior Even with Clip content ON, using Cmd/Ctrl+click (selection cycling) can select layers that are clipped or fully outside the frame’s visible bounds. In Dev Mode, it’s also easy to select elements that are not visible because they’re outside the frame viewport. While I appreciate Figma keeping the frame presets updated with the latest hardware, the current organization makes it difficult for designers who prefer specific devices sizes/or is part of the deliverable (like me and the iPhone 13 Mini <3) for their workflow. Currently, I have to scroll to the 'Archive' section every time I want to create a new frame. This adds unnecessary friction to my process.Proposed Solution: Give users the ability to 'Pin' their most-used frames to the top of the sidebar, or allow us to toggle the visibility of specific device categories—similar to how the 'Inspect' mode in Chrome allows you to customize which devices appear in the list. This would allow us to prioritize the screen sizes that fit our specific design.Or other suggestion: just give us the control over it. :P 

Dear team, Please add a layers panel for Figma Team, just like how you would in Webflow. It is hard to imagine which layers we are selecting. This is so we can be more accurate in our prompts.Looking forward to granting this feature.Regards,Aileen

currently working at an agency and they won’t switch to Figma due to the issue of Internal vs. external comments and how this is solved in Invision with Private Comments. I feel like if we just had private or even levels of permission (admin) comments vs. guest comments Does anyone else experience this? Is anyone using a plugin or workaround to help solve this?

This is a feature that would really improve the cross-pollination between the two systems! Right now it only functions for videos or static photos. At the very least, a simple download button would suffice- allowing you to manually download another user’s GIF upload and drop yourself into the slides document. Currently you’d have to request the file be sent separately. thanks!
