Hello,I need the ability to the hex code on my color variables when I am applying them to my components. I’m using Material Color Tokens for naming so it is not obvious what the color is based on the name.

It would be great to have quick-access aspect ratio presets (like 1:1, 3:2, 4:3, 16:9, etc.) when working with the rectangle or frame tools in Figma.How it works:While designing a website or app, I often use image ratios like 3:2, 1:1, or 19:9. If my image has a width of 1024 px, it would be great to just pick a ratio like 3:2 from a dropdown, and Figma sets the right height automatically — no need to calculate it myself.Example interaction:Select a rectangle with 296 × 170 px → choose 3:2 → Figma adjusts it to 296 × 197 px (3:2).See Image below as reference.Thanks.Leo

i u’d love to see Figma provide a way for companies or organizations to officially submit and add their own shape kits, icons, or templates directly into the FigJam “More Shapes” sidebar—alongside AWS, Google Cloud, and similar resources. This would allow teams to streamline diagramming with organization-specific diagrams available instantly. At present, only core libraries curated by Figma are available there, so extra shapes need to be imported as templates or community files. Can Figma build a model or submission process for partners or trusted orgs to add resources to the sidebar natively? This would hugely benefit larger teams and anyone diagramming with standards unique to their work.

TLDR - Variables in editor should indicate they are stored in an external file. When using Variables in conditional statements or setVariable the UI elements don’t completely nor clearly display the context of the variable, such as which file its being referenced from, or its full path. Basically, it looks like you shorten the full path of the variable. As such when using variables that are deeply nested in the Collection, it becomes impossible to see that. This creates an issue if you use the same variable name within nested groups in a collection. For example `/Collection/Group-1/Count` becomes `Count`. As such, if you have `/Collection/Group-2/count` it becomes impossible to know which Count variale you are using. THis forces you to name variable count_1, count_2 etc. Also, If i make the mistake of creating a copying a component from one figma file with variables to another figma file, (without the variables). Then the component will reference the variables from the source figma fil

I’m currently dealing wiht complex bar charts and tables. Every once in a whiche, I need to re-order 20+ rows, columns, bar charts etc. There’s no shortcut or function to simply flip order. This would be a huge QoL improvement. 

Hi, I've noticed that Figma's AI chat doesn't allow new conversations, and I understand LLMs have context limits.Does Figma's LLM consider all historical project context?It would be helpful to have multiple chat windows for building different components, as the current single-component process is slow. ThanksJag

I feel like i’ve been transported back in time 25 years to when flash first introduced programming elements. Its exactly like you have Set Variable right now. A fixed building blocks afair of dropdowns and structured UI elements to implement if and else blocks. It was horrible 25 years ago and really horrible still. Please allow developers to write code as text. We’re not babies, we’re quite capable of spelling and programming basic if else statements.

The components in the assets tab are currently organized in folders by file > page > frame/section. You can have an even deeper hierarchy if you name your components with one or multiple slash separators like Buttons/Toggle Button. This, however, bloats the component names so I would like to have the possibility to create deep hierarchies by nesting frames. As of now, only the top-level frame on a page is considered when grouping components in the assets tab and frames inside of frames are ignored. The same goes for sections inside sections and frames inside sections.If this would result in unwanted asset organization because the frames are used for layouting purposes, a compromise could be to allow this only for sections inside sections.

I created a component 1 (main component), and copy paste it as component 2. I want to modify the component 2 a bit, for example the layout of textbox. I’ll have to detach component 2 from component 1 (main component). Can I re-attach component 2 to component 1 (main component) after I detach it?Or is there any other way to modify component layout?

Hi Figma, Listen it’s my fault, literally, that help is designed this way where it deflects. I designed Answers at Salesforce and that was the first of this sht. Giving feedback from within the product, is not a help topic. I suggest you have a separate channel. A google form would work very well, actually. It could create a spreadsheet and you could categorize the items. Designers ARE your bread and butter. NO, regular people are not going to swarm to Figma no matter what Exec says AI will make that happen. They go to Canva and then probably something even simpler. SO GET A TIGHT FEEDBACK LOOP WITH DESIGNERS I’M NOT YELLING JUST HIGHLIGHTING THIS.Feedback: make auto layout a part of the UI. It would be great if we could create a slice and set that as the thumbnail. This would allow us to select a relevant and/or nice looking crop of anything on the canvas to serve as the thumbnail image. 

I have layouts where “hug” on sections works fine. There was a way to do this by converting the autolayout to a section but now it doesn't work.  Please provide the ability to set the "hug" parameter in section sizes.

I'm using Rewrite to organize my meeting notes.Instead of rewriting the content, I tried to ask it to highlight keywords by bolding them.Apparently it works in terms of identifying key words, but it’s in markdown method using double asterisks, instead of truly bold my texts.Anyone find a way to truly format texts using Rewrite? Curious will it be possible in future?

I don’t want vector drawing. I want to draw raster in pixels please. 

Right now, in order to link out of a file, the link has to be attached to a Text layer. It would be great if I could add a link out to any layer, like a button or a Card.

Can there be a way so that we can copy / view the text and color values without unlinking the style definition? See the attachment, it would be very helpful if I could see the properties of this selected text , instead of only the style name ( Same for colors )  

I use ‘N’ as my push to talk key on Discord which in Figma goes to the next frame.I just want to be able to unbind/remap the key in the figma app so this doesn’t happen.

When using Figma’s comment feature, we often input text using an input method editor (IME), which includes a composition process for converting characters (such as from Japanese kana to kanji). In most IME environments, pressing the ESC key once during composition cancels the ongoing conversion and returns to the pre-converted state. Pressing ESC again cancels the entire text input. However, in Figma’s comment input field, pressing ESC even once during the composition phase closes the entire comment box. This results in losing all the text being typed, even if it hasn’t been confirmed yet. This behavior is very disruptive for users who rely on IMEs.Could you please prevent the comment box from closing when ESC is pressed during text composition? The first screenshot shows the behavior in VSCode when pressing the ESC key during text composition.The second screenshot shows how pressing ESC in Figma’s comment field behaves in contrast.

As a user, when I’m updating instances from a library when in dark mode, icons can be hard to see on the dark background, I would like to be able to see what the dark icons look like. Suggestion to add a toggle for the background of the instance so that a dark icon on the dark mode background can be changed to light mode.

Hey Figfam I know this might not be a top ask, or even on the top of your priorities, but any chance an update can be made so we can use local fonts on iPad? Is one of the few features that keeps me from being able to fully use Figma on iPad through the browser. Maybe some specific font helper app? Just my 2 cents.
