Dear Figma Team,We’d like to report a serious misunderstanding that occurred due to the current UI design of the file search and metadata display. When searching for design files, we noticed that the user profile and the last edited timestamp are shown together. However, the user profile displayed is that of the file creator, not the person who last edited the file. This led us to mistakenly believe that a former employee—whose profile was shown—was somehow still accessing and editing our files through unknown means. We were very close to taking legal action before we discovered that the profile displayed belonged to the file's original creator, not the last editor. This UI behavior is highly misleading and can lead to serious misunderstandings and even legal consequences. We kindly suggest revising the interface so that it clearly distinguishes between the file creator and the last editor, or at least displays the most relevant profile depending on the context.Thank you for your attenti
Areas of Improvement 1.Slow Rendering Performance: Issue: The rendering of design changes is significantly delayed - taking approximately 7–8 minutes to reflect even minor updates (e.g., spacing or alignment tweaks). This lag impacts design iteration velocity. Suggestion: Optimize rendering speed by reducing response times for minor design changes—such as alignment or spacing—to enable faster, more fluid iteration. 2. Scaling Issues: Issue: Certain visual elements and components (e.g. charts/tables) do not scale appropriately to fit within their container dimensions. This results in misalignment, clipping, or incomplete rendering, negatively impacting usability and the overall user experience. Suggestion: Implement responsive design techniques to ensure visual elements adjust dynamically based on container size. Consider auto scaling or adaptive rendering logic to maintain readability and alignment. Introduce overflow UI like adding scrollbars, truncation indicators, or respo
So, people were asking for more undos… because 100 wasn’t enough. So heeey - what a great idea - you turned it into what - 20 undos? 25? WHAT THE F...IGMA? heh
Hi Figma team and community, First off, I just want to say that variables have been a game changer for me and my team. They’ve helped us improve both the efficiency and accuracy of our designs in a big way.As we move toward treating our Figma files as the single source of truth for all customer-facing content, I wanted to share some feedback that might make variables even more powerful—especially for teams that are serious about using them to scale design operations.Disclaimer: I haven’t searched to see if these ideas have been raised already, so if there’s any overlap—pardon the redundancy! 1. Rich Text Formatting SupportThere are many times when a string includes things like hyperlinks, bold or colored text, or even superscripts—especially in compliance disclosures. It would be tremendously helpful if variables could support some basic rich text formatting to reflect these needs more accurately in design. 2. Composable String Variables (and Maybe Formulas?)Right now, if I want to cre

Hello, I may need some assistance. It seems someone in application architecture at Figma forgot a core requirement for producing ALL design collateral. I’m speaking about Unit of Measure (UoM) and Resolution. The unit of measure should allow the selection of pixels, points, centimeters, inches, feet, yards, meters, etc. This is foundational for setting the overall canvas/frame/artboard dimensions. A must have. No debate. The resolution should convey the pixel density within the dimensions of the canvas/frame/artboard. That’s print. A must have. No debate. These are two of the most important settings for configuring a digital canvas. However, from what I’ve found poking around the internet, Figma thinks all designers work in Pixels and should rely on plugins, yes you heard that correctly. Figma suggest we use PLUGINS to manage these core settings. Come on? Really? What are you thinking? Oh, right, you aren’t.With 25 years of experience in information architecture, systems engineering, and
When users who don’t have full seats receive a link to a Figma file, the see this view (assuming they are authorized to view it). At least half the people do not notice or don’t understand how to request access to dev mode or, if they already have permissions, to access Dev mode from here. The toast on the bottom ends up being a much stronger signal than incomprehensible “switch to dev mode” icon, so they click it. As a result, our admins get multiple Edit requests per day… This is problematic in multiple ways:Devs who were trying to get access to product specs and already have permissions, can’t so the work is paused or completed based on screenshots (trust me, it happens all the time) Admins of the organization are bombarded with Edit requests multiple times a day. They ignore these requests since we don’t add any designers on any cadence, but they still have to sort between reasonable Dev seat requests and Edit requests instead of adding devs in bulk There’s actually no way to chan
I hope to add the function of path gradient, which is very useful for logo design.
I’ve worked in Slides for a few hours now and have run into some bugs and possible quality-of-life improvements that could be made. I think the product has a lot of potential so far, for what it’s worth! It’s off to a great start and I think it will be super helpful for me. Good things The default unstyled slides provided by Figma are simple and high-quality. They’re working great as a basis for building my own custom template. Would love to have more diagrams available in the official library Figma provides. QOL improvements Command + R doesn’t work to rename layers, and you can’t batch rename layers. As a layer-namer this has broken my flow a lot. Implemented Managing the text styles has been a little weird, because the editing features seem to be split between slides mode and design mode. I understand that once I have the design and styles set up the idea is probably that I won’t need to edit them in design mode too much (thus keeping slides mode UI cleaner and more focused on co
I use Figma in my “regular job” as a design engineer. I love it. It helps use collaborate across time zones and deliver quality products each time. I currently serve on the board of a non-profit and wanted to introduce tech to help us be more productive, efficient, and better serve the communities we support. We are entirely self-funded now as we lost our government grant. All staff, including the board, are volunteers. The operating budget is very, very limited - and 95% of it goes towards helping terminally ill, elderly, and underserved in our community. My board is spread across the USA. As we struggle to reach more people in need and market our org, I thought Figma would be a great platform to use to strategize and brainstorm as a team, as well as design any portals or micro sites we might need in the future. Unfortunately, the cost of even a single user license is $200/year, a cost that is already prohibitive. It’s unfortunate and disheartening that Figma treats every team like a
i want to make a grid of images from an auto-layout. the previous behavior was that the layout would responsively place as many images on one row that fit within the frame’s horizontal bounds. so if the frame is widened, at some point the images would start wrapping around. this behavior is broken even when it’s set to grid layout. please fix, don’t explain how the new layout works, i understand it and want the old way restored. added grid auto-layoutwidening the frame desired result from resizing the grid-layout
Selected container has decimal width because of Auto Layout GridI’ve applied the Auto Layout Grid mode to the parent layer of the selected container. That container is set to fill to be adjusted with the grid applied. It should be snapped to pixel as the Layout Guide is snapped to pixel while it is not. I’m setting up grid system for a design system and this is super important because the content within the selected container will always remain in decimals if this isn’t snapped to a pixel. Is there anything that I’m missing or doing wrong?
Small poll:Let me know what you prefer (you can only pick one):More Figma products (e.g. new applications) Better Figma products (e.g. improved prototyping)
Thank you! just wanna say that i love figma sites even though it’s in beta it’s so easy to work with.no complaining .. just saying cant wait fore the total package!
Hi, facing preview issue in figma sites. Below is the preview screenshot which is totally different from what I created. Logo on top is broken, it was originally positioned on the left, and fonts are not appearing with the same properties as used in design.
I found out I couldn't a while ago, and I apologize to the owners of Figma.I apologize if the chosen category is wrong, I think it is not the right option for my case.
Sites is awesome! Even when there are not so much default interaction animations, code layers compensate it. I would suggest to be able to set id on layers just like the html tag , so that code layers could interact with other elements.
I think the idea for figma sites is great! However there is some issues I am having. There is no way to connect a backend DB to the site that I have seen. I want to make my site password protected so have made a login system and Figma Make has created an authentication for it which is great and works, but if you type /home in the address bar it takes you into the site bypassing authentication. The second issue is that there is no way to access the files behind the site. You can use figma make to code components which is cool, but trying to make a site-wide search bar isn't working because the code can't seem to go across pages so can only search things on that page which is pretty pointless. We need Figma Make that has access to all of the sites pages for better context. Another issue is that it's hard to redesign something once it has been coded in Make. If you design something and send it to Make then Make creates an image instead of SVG so it doesn't look great. But also means you
I can't believe Figma is forcing this change on us. UI3 is, without a doubt, the most unfriendly design possible. It has made my workflow painfully slow and incredibly unproductive. What’s the harm in letting people CHOOSE which UI works best for them?I always thought switching to UI3 was a HUGE mistake, but I never felt the need to comment on it because UI2 was still an option. Now that you're FORCING this change, I have to speak up.This is NOT an upgrade. It’s a downgrade in usability, efficiency, and user experience. Figma was supposed to be about flexibility and user-centered design—so why ignore the feedback of those who actually use the platform every day?Give us back the choice. Let people stick to UI2 if they want. This forced migration is a slap in the face to long-time users who built their workflow around UI2.
Hello, I used Figma site a lo recently and here are some feedback :The requirement to use a subdomain is quite restrictive. For example, if I'm forced to deploy my site on www.domain.com, I also need to redirect domain.com to www.domain.com to avoid users being blocked or unable to find the site when simply typing domain.com. This redirection then has to be set up manually on the server side, whether through a .htaccess file or an Nginx or Apache configuration. I have the technical skills to do this — it's my job — so it didn’t take me long. But it's far from accessible for someone who isn't a developer. In my case, the simplest solution would have been to host the site directly on domain.com. Dynamic components (e.g : carousel) which have breakpoint variants do not adapt responsively to the screen size. This cause major interface problems. The problem is not observed for static components. Buttons do not have focus states (interactions) which is highly problematic ATM for designing we
With the rise of LLM-based “Vibe Coding” tools like V0 and Cursor, I’m expecting Figma to address this shift at Config 2025. This year has been transformational—it's now faster than ever to validate early ideas and prototype them with full interactivity. This speed benefits designers, teams, PMs, and users alike, making rapid iteration and validation a core part of the process. In my practice, we quickly realized that traditional wireframing in Figma no longer felt as useful—especially since we’ve never been big fans of its prototyping layer. Figma’s strength has always been in UI design, but we’re now facing new bottlenecks:1. Bridging the gap between AI-powered coding tools and high-fidelity UI in Figma.2. Defining components in a way that makes them easily usable in these new workflows. (What does a design system look like in this new landscape) As these AI-driven tools evolve, the question is: how will Figma adapt? Will they double down on their UI strengths, improve handoff workflo
Our UXR team has noticed an increasing issue with loading prototypes on Android devices. Are certain devices more susceptible to this issue? Sometimes refreshing the prototype once resolves the problem, but other times the prototype either fails to load entirely or crashes. Are there any recommended optimizations, or have others experienced this issue?
Hello,I wanted to share a small suggestion: it would be helpful if future emails like updated “Terms of Service” included a brief summary that everyone can roughly understand what changed. I’ve noticed that other companies often do this, and it really helps ensure the main points are clear and accessible. As it stands, the content of legal comes across as somewhat dense and lacks transparency for people that are not lawyers, which could be easily improved with a short summary in the mail.Thank you for considering this feedback.Best regards,Mikka Wild
Excited for Sites! But there is def some room for improvement when it comes to basic things like global styles for inline text links. Maybe I’m not figuring out how to configure this but I’ll give an example: I need an h1 with multiple inline links in the text, like “This is my H1 title with one link and also a second”. From what I can tell there are two issues:There is no way to wrap multiple inline text objects in an auto-layout frame that then renders as a single h1 tag. There is no way to style this inline text with an underline and a color change when hovering without using some convoluted component setup. For example if I want any inline text link on my site within a paragraph tag to have the same underline & hover style, I think the only way to do this is using custom CSS in the site settings. This won’t show up in the designs though so not sure if this is the best approach. Hover interaction options in Interactions pane on the right only offers opacity/scale/offset/rotation
