Question

Scroll speed

Martijn_Saly

Scroll speed is inconsistent. Can this please be fixed? It’s all over the place.

It's really quite as simple as: one tick of the scrollwheel should ALWAYS travel the same amount of on-screen pixels. Job done, bob’s your uncle, chicken dinner.

Why's this been a problem for years by now? How do the Figma devs not find this absolutely bonkers annoying?

Fix. This. Already.

@Martijn_Saly sorry if I sound a little dumb asking this, but wanted to get more clarification:

Can you send a screen recording of what you mean exactly? I know that’s probably harder to get without including narration along with it, so understood if you aren’t able to provide that.

My initial thought was that you were talking about click scroll wheel > move to pan around doesn’t move in a smooth, consistent manner. I think that I might be wrong, so let me know more specifics if you can.

@ksn I also have same issue. Like you can open any document and scroll with different speed up and down without taking your finger off and you’ll notice you can start to travel in you document up or down. But I beleive you shoudn’t be able to.

However I mostly dislike the speed of scroll. I wish it was faster. Changing the speed in Windows settings helps, but then it’s too fast when I use Explorer or other software.

Thanks, both. I’ve seen some work that’s being done internally that aligns with the inconsistent speed scrolling you both mention.

I don’t have any info on what exactly any changes would be, and when they would be pushed out. In the meantime, if you start noticing more of a degradation in performance, drop a new reply here.

Thanks!
