On a macbook pro 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, running Sequoia 15.1.1
For the last month or so I’ve noticed performance issues with the Figma app. Files open slower, pages take longer to load up for the first time and when I’m sharing my screen over a Microsoft teams call the performance is near shambolic! The files lag and are slow to respond to movements.
Anyone else facing similar issues?

- Does this happen in the desktop app, supported browsers, or both?
- Does this happen with all design files or just specific ones?
Also, could you try these steps to see if there is any improvement :
- If you are using UI3, try switching back to the old UI - Can I go back to the old design?
- Clear the cache on your app or browser.

This is primarily in the desktop app. The browser lags as well with teams, but not as much.
Its more prominent with larger files, but noticed it across all files.
Switching to the old UI made no difference.

- Since this issue seems to be more pronounced in the desktop app, please try clearing the desktop app cache if you haven't already.
- Given that the issue is more noticeable with larger files, please try reducing memory usage by referring to the "Tips for reducing memory" section in our Reduce memory usage in files documentation.
As Figma is built on browser-based technologies, each browser has its own active memory limit. Generally, there's an active memory limit of around 2GB per tab. These limitations also apply when you're using the Figma desktop app.

When submitting, please include the following information:
- Your Figma account email
- Troubleshooting steps taken

Found this thread as I’ve been having similar issues this week. Emptying the Figma desktop app cache (I’m on Windows) and restarting it seems to have helped. https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/22380853110551-Clear-the-Figma-desktop-app-cache
Forgot to add reverting to the old UI has also helped quite a bit for me.
Yep it’s definitely the new UI that is causing my Figma to be sluggish. Only seems to have started happening this week.
