I've been a designer for 29 years and I keep seeing the same pattern with AI coding tools like Claude Code: designers are either sticking with the full Figma workflow and handing off to AI for code generation, or they're skipping Figma entirely and going straight to prompts. Both approaches feel incomplete to me. The first one doesn't take advantage of what AI can actually do. The second one throws away the entire design process.I've been experimenting with a different approach: encoding the design process directly into the AI tool. Things like having the LLM stress-test your requirements before generating anything, creating a proper design brief, structuring information architecture, generating design tokens, and running autonomous design reviews using Playwright. The idea is that instead of replacing Figma, you're replacing the process gap between "I have an idea" and "here's a working frontend." The design thinking still happens. It just happens inside the coding tool instead of on a

TL;DR: Figma’s PDF exports (even with paid plugins) gave me huge, laggy files, so I built my own tool that exports slides as compressed images, rebuilds the PDF with OCR, adds all links, and got a 48-slide deck from 177MB down to 11MB with smooth performance. The title basically says it all...I’ve been tryna properly export Figma presentation decks to PDFs for like 3 years now, and every option I tried just wasn't doing enough for me. I’m not even gonna get into Figma’s default pdf export, but even $20/month plugins like Compressed PDF and TinyImage Compressor still gave me pretty chunky PDFs (typically over 100mb for 30 to 50 slides). And it wasn’t just the file size either. The PDFs would feel janky as hell when scrolling, stuff would flicker, the scrolling itself would lag A LOT, and sometimes the design itself would get messed up when the plugin tried to optimize vectors, glows or other weird effects. My decks usually have a lot going on too, like I abuse gradients, glows, vector sha

Hi everyone,I am trying to understand the complete process of BISP 8171 web portal registration for checking eligibility and CNIC status online.I found that many people are confused about how to properly register and check their information without making mistakes. I have been reading different guides and trying to learn the correct steps.Recently, I came across a helpful resource that explains the process in a simple and easy way: https://adpportal.com.pk/It helped me understand how to enter CNIC details and check eligibility status online. However, I still have a few questions: Is there any official deadline for registration? What should I do if my CNIC is not showing eligibility? How can I update incorrect information? If anyone here has experience with this process, please share your guidance. It would really help beginners like me.Thanks in advance!

Hey Everybody,I just got quoted $149 for a one-paged website in Los Angeles. Is this a fair price?I found this company when I searched for web design near me and they seemed to provide the cheapest price. I have little understanding when it comes to this manner, so I am not sure if this is a good deal, or a red flag, or pretty standard. Is godaddy good for hosting? This is what the agency recommended to me.A few questions: Is $149 a reasonable price for a single paged website? Where is the best place to host this website after completion? Any advice from people who have been through this or are web designers is appreciated.

Hi everyone!I’m finishing my masters in User Experience and Interactive Media Designe at Södertörn University. As my end project I’m writing a thesis about how Virtual Try-On technology could help with the size and fit issues of clothes, and hopefully improve the experience of online shopping. As the end result I want to design a Virtual Try-On interface that would help with determining how the item would fit the user better than just the pictures. For the first step in my research I’m conducting a survey about people’s experiences with clothing size, fit and Virtual Try-Ons. I need around 50 more respondents to get to the next step of the study, so I would apriciate any help! https://forms.gle/D7jHNbuAh4k4hFQi7 It mostly contains closed questions and shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to fill out.Thank you in advance!Alicja :)

Hi everyone,I’m currently researching how healthcare and diagnostic centers can improve their online booking and patient experience through better UI/UX design. Many imaging facilities now allow patients to schedule scans online, but the process often feels confusing and outdated. For example, while exploring options for an MRI Test in Lahore, I noticed that some diagnostic centers are starting to improve their digital experience and make test booking easier for patients. One example I came across was Alnoor Diagnostic Centre, which seems to focus on making medical testing information accessible online. From a design perspective, I’m curious about a few things: What are the best UI practices for medical test booking systems? How can designers reduce anxiety for patients who are booking scans like MRI or CT? Are there any good Figma templates or design systems specifically for healthcare platforms? If anyone has worked on healthcare or diagnostic center UX projects, I would love to he

FinTech is a massive industry in the UK, and finding a specialist mobile app development company in the UK for finance-related apps can be a game-changer. But do niche developers really offer that much of an advantage? In this thread, we’ll debate whether niche companies deliver better security, compliance, and scalability than generalist agencies. If your project involves payments, KYC, or FCA-regulated functionality, let’s talk about what to look for in a mobile app development company in the UK.

Hi everyone,I’ve been working closely with AI systems and agent-based architectures lately, and one topic that keeps coming up in discussions with founders, developers, and product teams is the cost to build an AI agent. Many people are excited about AI agents because of their ability to automate tasks, analyze data, and make decisions autonomously, but budgeting for these systems is often misunderstood. From a development perspective, building an AI agent is not just about connecting an AI model to an interface. It usually involves designing an entire ecosystem that includes data pipelines, model orchestration, infrastructure, integrations, and monitoring systems. Because of this, the cost to build an AI agent can vary significantly depending on the complexity of the project.I thought it might be useful to share some insights from the perspective of an AI developer working in this space. Why the Cost to Build an AI Agent Varies So MuchOne of the biggest misconceptions is that AI agents

Hey Figma folks — quick reality check question.I’m seeing more teams use AI-assisted steps (idea generation, asset creation, quick variations, copy, etc.) inside the design process. The problem is: when AI touches even one step, it gets surprisingly hard to answer:“What did the human actually create?”…and in a collab, who deserves credit / payment for what?I’d love to hear real workflows (not theory). If you’ve dealt with any of these, can you reply with what you do?1) The “client/legal” momentHave you ever been asked (by a client, manager, platform, or teammate)“Is this AI?” / “Can you prove your process?” What did you show them (versions, file history, screenshots, docs, Loom, etc.)? 2) The messy collaboration momentIn a multi-person file, when AI is involved, how do you handle credit/payment? Split evenly? “Who did the final layout wins”? Track changes/versions? Something else? 3) The Figma-native questionWhat’s the minimum evidence trail you wish Figma had built-in for AI-ass

The field of user experience offers exciting prospects for research as AI develops. Although AI is very good at processing data, consumers frequently find it difficult to understand its results, which might result in a simplification loop.As we move towards chatbot-style interfaces, it becomes increasingly important to embrace UX in a No-UI environment. Instead of concentrating only on aesthetics, designers are creating engaging conversational experiences. The focus now is on using speech and text to create emotionally resonant, intuitive, and captivating encounters. As a result of this progression, UX designers now play a wider range of roles, including language design, integrating user feedback, skilfully handling errors, creating microcopy, and creating adaptive systems that can be used in a variety of user contexts.Following guiding principles that guarantee efficient and user-centred design becomes crucial as the work of UX designers changes to meet these new expectations. Hi.I’m writing because I just saw an automatic annual renewal charge on my account about an hour ago...To be honest, I completely forgot to cancel this because I’ve been using Figma exclusively through my company’s corporate account lately. I have no need for a personal paid plan anymore and haven't used this specific account for any work since the charge happened.Since the payment was processed literally just an hour ago, could you please help me cancel this subscription and issue a full refund? It would be a huge help to me.I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you!

The evolution of AI agents is shifting software architecture from static automation to autonomous execution systems. Unlike conventional chatbots, AI agents operate through structured reasoning loops, API orchestration layers, memory systems, and tool invocation frameworks. They are no longer conversational interfaces; they are distributed computational decision engines embedded within product ecosystems. For product designers, developers, and technical architects in the Figma community, understanding how API-first AI agents are engineered—and what it truly costs to build and scale them—is essential. The conversation must move beyond “what is an AI agent” toward “how is it architected, deployed, governed, and economically modeled?”This discussion focuses on technical architecture, infrastructure strategy, orchestration engineering, and a structured cost breakdown of AI agent development. The API-First AI Agent Architecture ModelAn API-first AI agent is designed as a service-oriented arch

Hey, I am starting out Figma. I am unable to understand few things. 1- I had figma on student account but i switched it to professional and bought professional dev mode also. 2- I am unable to remove the lock. And i do not understand why the lock is there.  3- I do not have any team members. 4- When i have bought the professional Dev mode why am I still not able to work on anything or make a new project?

What happens if I start the organization plan with lets say 20 seats paid annually. After a month, i add 5 more seats (but these should be temporary for 2 months) and before the true-ups' due day i remove the aditional 5 seats. Would i be paying extra for 5 seats x 11 month or 5 seats x 2 months, on top of the original bill ofc.Can you help me with this?
