Hi

Unless I specifically grant it, I don’t see why a user should have the ability to self-upgrade (and therefore bill the org) to an editor permission.

I learnt the hard way.

Am I just dumb here or is this just an annoyance to capitalise on these errors?

Anyone know?

This feature is only available on Enterprise plan.

what feature?

We are on Professional, and people were able to self-upgrade.

Your topic name is ‘viewer restricted by default’ which is a feature of the Enterprise pricing plan. All other plans do not have the option to set users to assume that role by default.

Figma Help Center

ok so yes, the answer to my question is that this is a deliberate method capitalise on user error. Shady

In the Organization plan an admin can also set the default role to Viewer-Restricted.

(Not sure if that was different before, but right now it’s possible.)

Thanks for sharing that link. It described where to find it:

Admin → Settings → Billing → Default seat type

You are correct. They updated it at some point last year, after my reply, to also include Organization accounts. A small victory for those us on that plan level. 🎉
