After the latest update, I think it has become impractical in terms of user experience. The old interface was more user-friendly.
I liked too the old interface and I had to discover again many things how they are done in the new interface. But many things are a matter of habit. I believe after working a while with the new UI, we will get used to it and it will be OK. Plus, on the long run, the changes may be more beneficial for they way we do our work, i.e. User Experience - UX (we just can’t realize it yet).
The old interface is much better than the new one. The white theme is overly bright, and the contrast and focus is lost. The white ‘Return to instance’ button is less visible compared to the black one in the old design. The same goes for the gray tabs at the top.
After the update I feel icons have become less legible. I’m sure I will get used to it over time, but i find myself spending more time locating buttons/icons i’ve been using for year.
Hi everyone - I understand that these changes may take some time to really get a feel for, and in some cases, feel like they’re slowing down your workflow.
For now, while you start learning and adjusting to the new UI, you can toggle between UI2 and UI3. You can do so with the steps available at the bottom of this page..
Overall, I’d highly recommend going through that page from top to bottom (if you haven’t already) to help understand what UI3 has to offer.
(As a side note: I’ve edited the topic title and recategorized it to better fit the conversation)
Wow, such a valuable and precise feedback mate, well done indeed
Is UI2 going to exist alongside the UI3 in the future so as designers choose their preferred way of working?
It seems like a perfect opportunity to A/B test and understand user behaviour, I find myself using UI2 for 90% of things and UI3 for the 10% of new features that I finduseful. I would hope Figma would blend both UI’s
