Modes getting mixed up and showing other mode variables when switching between the two

I have 5 themes in my variables collection, sometimes when I switch to theme 3, it shows half of theme 3 and half of theme 4 colors. Why is it getting mixed up? To fix, I can select the frame or object and reapply the same color style and it displays the right theme color that is selected… why are variables so buggy 😦
