Hi! I keep getting view requests from random email addresses, so I think that my shareable link was leaked. How can I change the existing link so I can share it again ONLY with the people I want to give access?

Thanks!

If your Figma link has been leaked, it's crucial to act quickly to secure your designs and prevent unauthorized access. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you change your link and enhance your project’s security:

1. Change the Share Settings

  • Open your Figma file or project.
  • Click the Share button in the top-right corner.
• Review the sharing options:
    • Set access to "Only people invited" to restrict public access.
    • Disable link sharing if it’s no longer needed.

2. Regenerate a New Link

  • If the link was shared with public access, simply copying a new link won’t solve the issue.
  • Remove any users you no longer trust or who gained access from the old link.
  • Copy a new, restricted link for sharing only with trusted collaborators.

3. Monitor Link Access

  • Figma allows you to review users who have access.
  • Remove any unrecognized users immediately.

4. Use Password Protection for Additional Security

While Figma doesn’t have built-in password protection for files, if you need enhanced security, consider third-party solutions like sharing links through a password-protected document or using tools that offer link management.

5. Best Practices to Prevent Future Leaks

  • Share links only with trusted collaborators.
  • Use permissions-based roles (viewer vs. editor) to control access.
  • Periodically review and update access permissions.
