Question

Is it possible to see/open variable library in figma as a viewer?

I’m working with developpers and they need to be able to consulte our variable library to integrate our design system (espacially the colors). Does anyone know if, when you are a viewer it is possible to consulte them ?

+1 - I have this question as well. Developers can view individual variables in dev mode, but they seem to have no way to view the entire list of variables anywhere.

@mathilde3
I created a plugin that should solve this problem. It allows you to output all variables in JSON or CSS format.

+1, we need this to be able to collaborate with development partners outside of our org. It’s unrealistic to grant all devs edit access to Figma just to consume the information the same way we can visually.

We use the Figma CSS Variable plugin in our team, which is case-sensitive and can export Figma variables in CSS. The next version will allow you to export CSS directly to GitHub or Gitlab for seamless collaboration between design and code.

I hope it meets your needs
