I’m creating a FigJam widget with functionality that creates shapes on the board, but I can’t find a way for the shape to appear in a position that’s relative to the widget. Does anyone know how to create shapes where their position is relative? All I’ve been able to find is how to set the x,y coordinates respective to the board, but not the widget.

EDIT 2: on august 19, the problem still occurs EDIT: After updating Chrome problem seems to be resolved. Working with the browser app for few hours now and everything works fine. Since lately (3 days now) I experience shortcuts conflict when using Figma on Chrome. Using shortcuts like: cmd + shift + g; cmd + d; cmd + shift + h trigger Chrome actions instead of Figma actions, but only when my cursor is in the context of a sidebar, e.g. after expanding layer’s content and trying to expose a hidden layer found inside. This is HUUUGE problem since there is no other (simple) way to select a hidden layer without using the context of sidebar tree view. I havent experienced problems of this kind before and now its ruining my productivity. Please, help! I use Chrome and Mac Sonoma (14.4.1) on Macbook pro M1

Hello, Basically I have a device, that I’ll extend the screen to an additional huge screen on a small exhibition, the screen size og teh device I’ll be using is 1980x1080, while the other screen is 4200x1344. The Small Screen I want it to have Buttons that when I press it changes on the big screen, Photo Example: can it work somehow?

Hi all, Does anyboby know if there is a way to lock off flows when sharing? I have a large project on the go and would like to only share sections of the prototype at a time as it would only be areas relevant to a particular team in my company. This would then mean I wouldn’t get quized on areas that are not finished or part of a different teams jurisdiction. Currently a flow will then just link up to any part of the prototype thats connected. Hope that makes sense? Thanks Simon

Hi, I am working at a company that has 3 webdesigners and we all want to switch to Figma. We also have some external parties we work with for the development so we need Dev mode as well. We tried figuring out how the plans work, but are left with some questions. Do we need the professional plan or organization plan? Does paying for a plan for ONE account make it possible for multiple users with different logins to be created without having to pay for each and every account? Or do we need a paid account for EVERY person involved?

Hello, I am encountering a difficulty that I had never encountered before the new version of Figma: I have a component (an image), which has 2 variants. It is integrated into another component which also has 2 variants (a default, and a rollhover). When I change my image (the variant), it cannot “keep the good variant” on the hover. I’ve never had this problem before. In image to explain better, sorry for my english 🙂 Here is my first component, a coin image, with 2 variant of it, one silver and one gold. Here is my second component, with my coin nested, it had also a variant, where i just move the coin position, and the relation between my two variant is just a simple hovering effect. If I try this, it works perfectly. But now if i change the nested component “coin” from silver to gold : it doesnt work anymore, because the over effect “load” my silver coin instead of the gold. I have never had this “bug” before. Any idea why the hover version doesn’t keep the gold coin

Hi community, i have a question regarding “selection colors”. Is it possible to access and change the colors of figma.currentPage.selection[0] in order to change all occasions of “color x” to “color y” with one change? So I don’t need to access every single child element and change its color there. Thanks in advance 🙂

I am using ARC for a few weeks now, and thinking about going back to Chrome. This still hasn’t been solved. As a Product Designer, I need to be able to share my screen and show Figma screens in Google Meet. I’m on the latest version of everything: Sonoma 14.5 / Figma v124.0.2

Figma generated invoice for aug month with 4 seats but I want 2 seats only, is there a way I can decline this invoice and generate a new one with 2 seats? P.S. - I tried editing seats in member and made it 2 but it is showing in next month please help if anyone has face similar issue and solved it. Below attaching screenshot for reference

Hello! First of all, I want to say that I really appreciate the new UI design. It’s visually appealing and well-organized. Many features are now better grouped, making them easier to find. However, I’m encountering significant challenges with the “Go to Main Component” feature. Firstly, I find it difficult to locate this function, and secondly, I struggle to interpret it correctly. Previously, I relied on the appearance of the icon to quickly determine whether a component was local or from an external file. The new arrow icon, however, misleadingly suggests that I am being navigated away, which is not always the case when dealing with local components. This can cause confusion, as the action might simply involve moving within the same file. I would greatly appreciate a clearer distinction between local and non-local components. Hi, I have a component with 2 sizes (variants): Desktop and Mobile. They were built before variables came out so everything within the component is manually done up. Right now non-designer users find it annoying that whenever they drag a instance from the library to their desktop/mobile frame, they have to manually switch the variant between the two sizes. I’ve watched this youtube video that does what I need but it seems weird that the binding of variable is done on an instance and not on the component itself. This makes it useless if the end user has to do all these steps like creating variables, binding the instance, just to swap between sizes automatically. I also do not want to create the components from scratch because we have too many, Is there a way to bind the variant names to the frame names?

I have a frame with three identical symbols inside: As far as I can tell, all three layers qualify to be “matching” according to this article. However, when I press either the button at the top, or the shortcut, I get the message below: I pulled out this frame as an example, but I obviously have a larger design I’m working on where I would really benefit from being able to select all matching layers at once. I feel like this used to work but doesn’t anymore. What am I missing? I’m still on the old UI. Can’t really tell when I received the latest update…

Hola Amigo! I have a Figma working file (File A) and i use local components for the design. I have never published this File A as Library. On the other hand, I have centralized Library that contains all general component. Now I want to use the local components in File A in another project (File B) and still want the components in File A & File B to be linked. Is there anyway to move local components in FIle A to Library, so that i can use it in File B, without breaking the design in File A?
