Hi, Figma! Yesterday you made the floating panels fixed on the edges and I got this problem. Over two of the three accounts on my device, they are still floating with bars under a future update. You may want to include making them fixed for all at once rather than 10 October. I won’t be able to work in this interface for another 8 days. P.S.: Clearing the cache and restarting the desktop app didn’t help

The prototype works fine on android devices (chrome), but on iphone (chrome, safari) the video does not play nor audio is heard. Anyone know what would be the problem?Figma – 18 Mar 21

Probably I am not using this correctly so I would appreciate some clarification. So, we have a new fresh file with instances coming from components that are published in one of our internal libraries. If any of these instances is detached, it becomes a frame, so I understand that Figma has not implemented any mechanism to trace back the owning component. But, when some elements inside this instance (say other instances) are detached…shouldn’t detachedInfo report some info in this case? For me it just prints null

There used to be options in preferences to increase or decrease the size of the UI. What happened to these options?

Hi, I’m currently enrolled in the ZTM academy online bootcamp, I want to use the free professional plan for students but I’m not sure how since there is no option for choosing it as a school? I know that we were given the option to, so I’m confused.

Usually, when I copy and paste a frame, the number keeps counting. But lately, it has stayed the same. Is the automated numbering just gone, or it just me?

Hi, I just joined Figma and can’t do the very first thing I want to do which is to create a navigation bar. I used Assets on the left and pulled a Navigation Pill List to my page which gives you 6 Navigation Pills. All I want to do is add one more navigation pill and can’t figure out how to do this and I don’t understand why it’s so hard. First I thought I could go to the right hand design of the Navigation Pill List and just click a + and add another Link but no, nothing here allows me to add another navigation pill to my list. Next I just selected a Navigation Pill and copy and paste it but it wouldn’t let me move it into the Navigation Pill by drag and drop so I went into Layers and tried to move the new Navigation Pill into the Navigation Pill List but it won’t let me do this either. I’ve been working on this one thing for over 30mins and can’t figure it out. About to quit Figma so any help would be appreciated.

Education plan not working

Hello, I have already verified my Student Plan, and I’m trying to follow the instructions provided here to verify the team, but the “View Settings” option doesn’t appear. Since I can’t access “View Settings,” I tried upgrading my plan to the Professional level, but the page keeps loading and nothing happens.

I have a problem when selected to export as PDF. Want to selected all in one object name “UI”, previously there weren’t (0 of 0 selected). So check one by one object, it by showen export object file. UI file appeared, preveiously the page as blank. Are there bug?

I’ve been trying to see how it would look like to see the prototype of these frames that I exported as png’s aiming to solve the issue of not being able to prototype my designs. I don’t understand what am I doing wrong or if it’s just a Figma error.

Hello, I have an exceptional case that I am trying to figure out, hope I find some helpful resource here to fix it. When I created Figma, I accessed using education account through University mail ID. After graduation, I changed the account to professional one but when I recently tried updating my University mail ID associated with the account to my personal mail ID due to University ID expiration; there is no way to change it despite following the Google SSO removal (Since it is a Gmail account). I also raised a support ticket but my mail ID has been flagged as a starter plan in mail response despite having a professional plan and I am unable to reach the respective team to get the issue sorted. If any of you have gone through a similar situation, I would be glad to hear your way of fixing this issue. Thanks!

I’m designing a website, and the client has noted that it will rarely be seen as a full-screen experience on a MacBook Pro. I agree with this, and would love to show it in better context. I was hoping to find an easy way to do this that didn’t involve a world where every frame needed a fake desktop and Safari frame. I’d hoped I would be able to create an image of a MBP, macOS, and browser and then position a frameless prototype window over it in Slides. That gets close, but turning the device frame off causes trouble unless all the frames are cropped to their exact size. It seems like options for this should exist?

I’ve noticed that if you use the usual path technique to create a style. For example : Desktop / Text / Reg It works, but you don’t have the ability to create sub-categories and then you can’t change the name back to remove its path. So the name in the list remains Reg but you always see the path in the dropdown menu. Example below.

Hello, I am currently trying to embed an iframe on a Sharepoint site and I want to remove the Figma UI. I have previously been able to do this by simply amending the url with %26hide-ui%3D1 but now this doesn’t work. I have noticed that the entire iframe embed code is different now. like I compared the code I have for a prototype that is currently live and has the UI removed, but when I compare it with the embedded code that Figma gives me for that same prototype now, its completely different. Please help! TIA

I’m trying to be efficient with how many variables I have. I have buttons and dropdowns that contain the same content - hence using a component. When a dropdown for example is placed on different page layouts, I want the user to click an element, have it expand (using a variant of the component) and when the user selects option in the dropdown, they’re navigated to another page… but for each mockup page, the location changes. I thought I could simply set the ‘navigate to’ to go to a variable string, so I could change it on the fly. But that’s not possible. What’s another way to do this, without having 50 copies of my dropdown just so I can send each scenario to the right location.

Hi, I have a team in education plan. Now we’re all graduated but we need those design files. After the education plan expired, I want to upgrade my team to professional plan but Figma doesn’t allow it, we can only choose to upgrade to organization plan which is too expensive for us. And now we cannot access or download or move our file to a new professional team (I plan to buy one if Figma allows to move the old files into the new team). Is it true that we can only upgrade to the organization plan from education plan, or this is just a glitch? Please help me here T_T

Why am i not receiving login link mail from Figma in my outlook account? That account was my work Figma account and all my design files are in it and im unable to login, everytime i try it shows a message that a link has been sent, but there isnt any mail. If anyone can please help me out, please do it. This is a really urgent issue as I have clients waiting for their designs and out of nowhere I can’t access this account anymore…

I am pretty new to figma so any help is appreciated. I have created a very tall page that you can vertically scroll. I can add comments but only the top comments are viewable. Any comments applied to the bottom half don’t appear at all when prototyping. If you scroll down in the prototype, comments that only apply to the top are still displayed but overlaid now on the wrong elements.
