How to manage variables in a Figma Slides file?

Hello there, I’m struggling with something an I wonder if it is an issue or a missing feature. I can add new text variables in my files but I can’t find a way to edit their value. Is there a way to show the variable control panel like in a classic Figma file ? Is there even a way to edit their value ?
