Fixed: Figma Slides show Smart Animate transition only in Presenter View and not in Audience View

laramacrini

Hello everyone, I’m having some issues with Figma Slides when trying to present both in presenter and audience view. In particular, the “smart animate” slides transition doesn’t work in the audience view but seems to work fine in the presenter view. I already tried to restart the presentation, open it in the app and on different browsers, I just can’t find a way to make it work. It’s driving me crazy, I’d 100% prefer to not view the smart animations in the presenter view rather than in the audience view.
Do you have suggestions for solving this? It’s for my graduation presentation, I need to use 2 screens, one external for the audience view and my macbook screen for reading the notes in the presenter view
:(

I have the EXACT same problem. It worked 4 days ago and then one day just stopped. Smart animate works in presenter window but does not in audience window. Nothing has changed, literally overnight will not work. The challenge now is either give up animations or your presenter notes. Please help Figma.

Has anyone resolved this issue yet? Is this a new bug from an update?

Unfortunately no, I contacted Figma support and they said they are working on it but it seemed more like a generic answer honestly. It's a shame because I need it for tomorrow and I don't think it will be resolved within that time 😕 Idk if it’s a new bug since I never used it before, but another user wrote that it happened overnight in their case..

Hey All, thank you for your patience and understanding!

This is a confirmed bug that our Slides team is already proactively investigating and trying to fix. We’ll provide an update as they try to work towards a solution as soon as we can.

YES, thank you! Hope soon 🤞

Can you provide an ETA on the fix??? I have a critical presentation that depends on this on Monday - I need plan B if this is not fixed! what do people recommend? Sharing the presenter view (without the script) and exporting the script? I’m kinda freaking out. It’s 125 slides! 😭😫

Frankly this is unacceptable for such a key functionality on a product like Figma!

Same boat, working on this deck for over 3 weeks, over 100 slides. Was working fine and then one day just stopped. My back-up plan is to give up my presenter notes and just hope that my practice was enough but I know I will forget key details. Really hoping for this bug fix sooner than later.

Yeah not ideal. Would love it fixed before a presentation tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime, if it helps at all, the public presentation link in browser works fine. You’d have to run your presenter notes some other way, unfortunately.

So my scrappy fallback plan is to copy all my slide notes to apple note and put it side by side with Figma and share the view without the script and ultimately navigate both. The good thing is that you can use keyboard to navigate Figma and mouse scroll without clicking in note. But this is hella janky! Figma gotta fix this! As soon as Slides are no longer free, here come the bugs and this is a BIG BUG!!!

Haha, I’ve been using Keynote for 10+ years even all the way back to grad school. This was my first time deciding “I can design it in Figma and just copy and paste to Figma Slides? I’ll sacrifice some of the animation/interaction features for this!” (regretting it a bit at this moment hah - great when it works but boy it hurts when it doesn’t). I was thinking the workaround of just sharing the presenter window to the audience while having a whole other (non-seen) tab of the presenter window open and just clicking both one after another and dealing with the slight delay of toggling both windows. Does that make sense?

The solution I suggested with having your notes in a different software is better because you don’t need to click them to scroll it. On Mac you can scroll just by pointing your mouse at the window. So you use the keyboard arrow keys to navigate Figma and mouse to simultaneously scroll apple note. I’m gonna practice today and record myself and then watch to see if it is noticeable. If all else fails - gonna wing it without the script but agree that some things will fall through cracks.

GET IT TOGETHER FIGMA!!!!!
