Resolution doesn’t depend on the physical size. Also the dimensions can be very different for different aspect ratios.
It depends on your current Mac screen resolution from settings i.e. in the attached screen mine is 1440x900 and I am designing in that resolution mostly.
As per MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020) - Technical Specifications guideline supported scaled resolutions are
- 1680 by 1050
- 1440 by 900
- 1024 by 640
