Option to measure text layer from baseline

Currently, it’s not possible to measure the distance between a text layer’s baseline and another layer. The support page suggests:

Text layers: Figma will measure the distance from the text layer’s bounds. If you’re wanting to measure to the baseline of the text, we recommend updating the bounds of the layer to match the baseline.

but I’d maintain this is not sufficient. Figma should provide a way to adjust measurements between layers for baselines without requiring potentially-destructive operations on those layers.

Measuring from a text layer’s bounds does not account for padding within the layer. This padding is specific to each tool and context and can’t be relied upon to be consistent between environments. Thus, specifications are usually measured from text baseline.

Does anyone else experience this? Is anyone using a plugin or workaround to help solve this?, etc.
