PREVIEWING FONTS!!!

PREVIEWING FONTS!!!

PREVIEWING FONTS!!!

Each should be displayed in its own font. Hate having to actually make the change to simply discover what a font looks like. This wheel has already been invented. Why are we using square wheels?

Also, if I have a bit of text selected and I want to explore other font options, it would be slick if I could simply hover above each font name and have my selected text pop to that font for a preview. No changes would actually be made unless the font name was clicked.

(Overall, if Figma is going to offer the ability to type words, it might as well implement all the basic, expected, word-processing industry standards. So much is missing. Not having basic things like fonts displayed in their own font kicks the UX in the shins.)

Please add preview font in default Figma drop-down menu ui. Why Figma ignore this function? This will help novice designers, as well as facilitate visual work and font selection.

please add font preview.

letme now please if there is any.

Hover over text when you use the dropdown. Then you can preview fonts quicker rather than arrows down to find the perfect font.

Hey All,

Thank you for your feedback and votes! To be completely transparent, this is on Figma’s radar, but we don’t have an exact timeline we can share just yet. Our team is definitely working on it though - stay tuned! 😉

Please oh please describe more precisely the exact steps of this magic trick. I’m trying what you said, but nothing. How can we preview fonts? Thanks : )

Sorry for the confusion, @Meowface_Sam!

This was merged from another topic. They’re simply describing what they hope to see once the feature is launched.

HELP!!! Might there exist some kind of workaround, some way to trick Figma into previewing fonts? We’re bashing our skulls in not being able to preview fonts. The ability to preview fonts in the word-processing realm was standardized 30 years ago, which in tech-years is 3,000 years ago. If the person hired to manage the word-processing feature put down whatever he or she is currently doing, realistically how long would it take this person to flip the fonts over to be displayed in their own font? Three, four hours?

We’re begging you!!!

As mentioned a few days ago, our team has already been working on this. While we wish it would only take a few hours, the team can’t promise a specific timeline but please know that it’s coming!

Cool 🐈

When choosing a font, hovering over the font with the arrow does not immediately show how the text has changed to match the font we have chosen. It would be nice if you could immediately see how the text changes on hover.

Hey @kaparova.aisylu,

We’ve merged your idea with a similar existing feature request. Our team’s already working on making this happen!

I can not even see the full font names. I can not see if I am selecting the bold or the semi-condensed bold or the semi-condensed bold and italic. The menu does not widen or I do not get full font name over hover. That is equally frustrating as not seeing a preview.

Good day! During the design process, I calculated that it takes 15-20 minutes to find the right fonts or to select them. I believe that if figma had the opportunity to immediately know the visual display of this font before choosing, then we could save time on this and make this process more convenient

Thanks for your attention

Hi @Fabulous ,

I merged your topic with a similar one that has been already created in the community.

For your information, our team is working on it! 🙂

STILL not addressed after like 6 years???

But changing major key commands was important?! Ridiculous.

Sorry for the wait, @MattBraun - it’s coming! Stay tuned! 😉

Hey All, thank you for your patience!

We officially launched Font Picker! 🎉 Learn all about it here:
