Images take forever to load + no reference of loading progress

When you open a project with a lot of images it really takes forever to completely load.

The main issue with this is when reviewing work / presenting to clients:

  • You don’t notice images as they don’t have a skeleton/placeholder that tells you they are loading. So you miss a lot of things.
  • No loader/spinner to understand if the file is ready or still loading. You are left to wonder.
  • I have to open the files a few minutes before having a review call to make sure we see the same thing.
  • Design Review calls turned to be super frustrating coz of this. 🥲

I understand big images can be resized (i would expect Figma to do it automatically, maybe an option in Preferences) but maybe using more cache to store images or whatever.

Of course, this didn’t happen that often on previous releases/versions.

Hope there is a fix or workaround for this 🙃
