Question

Dropping element inside of Frame group

Tom_Caklos

Hi there! So I really don’t know how to search this issue but here issue I am experiencing.

As you can see in the screenshot below, I’m having a headline (which is part of Frame autolayout) and blue element on the right side. I am trying to basically take that blue element line and place it right under the word “Embedded”.

However, when I try to place it there, it automatically adds it into autolayout and puts it somewhere else. See screen below.

Is there any shortcut I have to hold in order to put that element under that word without actually adding it into that Frame autolayout group?

Thanks for any help 🙂

Hi Tom,

I think the functionality you are looking for is “Absolute positioning”, but as far as I know there is no shortcut to drag/drop it directly in…

yes, the spacebar trick will prevent it from going inside the frame 👍

I was assuming that Tom wanted to place in in the frame, but not being influenced by autolayout. That way he can reposition the frame and the object with absolute position will move with the frame.
