Ooh Flash died a horrible death…similar

Maybe it will also be that they discontinue Figma and they want to force us into XD. 🤣 At least that’s how it was with Freehand.

Max_Bardus1

Please don’t let this happen

Matthew_Galley1

Anyone want join in rebuilding Figma platform from the ground up under a new name? Keep the legacy a live, but continue to make it better!

Michael_Binder

Same stuff when Adobe acquired Macromedia. Anyone who has been in the industry long enough knows how that went. RIP Figma.

Martijn_Hoppenbrouwer

I remember one ‘fix’ of Illustrator that Adobe did in the past year.
They added nothing, except made it impossible to copy vectors from illustrator and paste it into Figma. How f*cking evil is that.

Alexandre_Istrasoft

probably a pretty good business idea actually hahha

I never thought I would feel anything for a tool, but this news has made me sad and angry. Figma stood for something: it was a finger to The Man, proof that a business could disrupt and thrive without greed being the compass. Absolutely devastating news.

RizePoint_Product

I moved to Figma to get AWAY from the half-baked attempt at prototyping software that was Adobe XD and Adobe’s infamous reluctance to improve or innovate its non-tentpole applications. And yet, here we are, back again.

What’s the next tool we’re moving to everyone?

Terrible news 😢

StoreBrandSimon

I have been using Adobe products for over 20 years. I hate Creative Cloud slowing down my PC and how they kept trying to get you to use their cloud storage for everything. So I literally booted up Figma for the first time in ages and loved it and I was excited to use it for my personal work away from CC and then today I see the news…

There are actually a lot of copied figma projects, and all are free, figma can be imported, and the figma experience is restored

from what I can see, those look great. Too bad they don’t support English.

Why can’t there be a really good open source to like blender for UI design 😭
We really need that

Tatiana_Anagnostaki

Unfortunately, he got an offer he coudn’t refuse… RIP Figma…

Slava_Bronevitskiy

Absolutely shocked in horror, having been following what Adobe did to Macromedia and Behance in terms of problem-solution fit, innovation, usability and the quality of code base.

Why would you hand over control of the best product in the world to an incompetent enterprise that (rightfully) earned worldwide disrespect?

I’ve heard so much pain in a livestream on Twitter where about a thousand designers tried to stay positive and figure out how to deal with this.

Somebody please eject from this deal before the contracts are signed. Killing the future of Figma is not worth the money. We will gladly pay NeverAdobe fee on top of our licensing costs. Figma can be bigger and beter than Adobe and put them out of design market!

Pixso has an english version, it looks promising.

I shouted obscenities at my computer screen, disturbing everyone in the office!

Aureliano_Capri1

Please, please, please! Don’t do it!
Don’t sell your soul to the hell.
Adobe is for sure a wide company, but it has not that freshness that distinct you above the others. They are SLOW in changing, they are EXPENSIVE, they have a TRICKY user experience in their interfaces. And their forum is not so quick and full of gentle people like THIS space.
Really, you don’t deserve them! In front of you you have a HUGE community (we, the users of FIGMA, not of Adobe XD - poor “XD” icon, ruined by this semantic link) full of coders, developers, designers. Exploit them, exploit us for growing as a business. Think about a different plan than selling your richness to somebody that would not know how to manage it.
PLEASE!

Everybody liked Figma because it was free. Guess what, there is no free lunch. When the users won’t pay, somebody else will eventually. As much as $20 Billion.

Seems like the only thing a UX designer can do against adobe is to keep making new programmes that are better than theirs until they go bankrupt. That is not difficult.
