I am a Designer with a team of Developers working with me. I want to buy subscriptions for myself and the team for us to have a smoother handover process, but I am unsure what the payment plans are like.

  • Is it one payment that will cover all the accounts? or will we have to buy a separate subscription for each account?
  • Is it better for us to have the professional plan or the organization plan? (The team is made of 1 Designer and 2 Developers - Could add 2 more Devs in the future)
  • I, as a Designer, will need both Design and Dev modes while the Developers will only need Dev mode

I emailed the sales team about it but I don’t know what the response times are like, so here I am :)
Thanks to anyone who can provide any clarity or help!

Hi @Abdulaziz Alheddi, Thanks for reaching out about this.

Figma's pricing is based on your team. You're charged based on how many people on your team have a Full (paid) seat for each product.

Each team needs its own subscription, and the type of seat someone has affects both their billing and what they can do in files.  Check out this article for more info: Manage seats in Figma

The key difference is that the Professional plan is for one team, while the Organization plan is for multiple teams.

Please think about which structure works best for you. These links might help you decide:

About Dev Mode seats:

  • If you have a Full Figma Design seat, you can access Dev Mode.
  • On the Organization and Enterprise plans, standalone Dev Mode seats are also available.
  • On the Professional plan, there isn’t a standalone Dev Mode seat; users with a Full Design seat can toggle between Figma Design and Dev Mode.

You can find more information here: Dev Mode for admins

I hope this helps! Sorry for the delay in getting back to you from our sales team. If you need help upgrading to the Organization plan, please send a private message to me. I'll ask a few questions to connect you with sales.

Thanks again!
