Question

Why does holding cmd to crop an image now crop it symmetrically from the centre?

Jack_Taylor1

Maybe this makes sense for certain photos, but if you care about what parts of an image are included in the crop, it makes no sense to crop from the centre. I’m sure holding command and scaling an image used to just crop the side of the image you were scaling from. Now it scales / crops from the centre, like you might expect it to if you were holding cmd + option + scaling.

This is one of a few issues with scaling / holding cmd that I’m having recently, I’ve also found that holding cmd+ scaling a frame is inconsistent in whether or not it ignore constraints

Hey @Jack_Taylor1, thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delayed reply!

I just tried to crop an image holding down Cmd, and it’s not scaling/cropping from the center. Are you still seeing this happening?

Hey Jack.

This is not exactly helpful to your struggle there. Sorry.

But I found a long time ago that using the FIgma Scale Tool is much much more accurate and gives us some good control.

And you can select which corner you prefer to scale to.

I never scale outside of this tool.

Hope that helped a lil.
