I’ve noticed that Figma has become extremely slow lately. It’s taking a lot of time to copy, paste, and open files, which is significantly affecting our productivity. Moreover the “Memory Usage” issue has been a regular thing… the whole team has been complaining about this…
Figma Desktop App version 124.2.9**

Is this the same with others too? Trying too see if its an known issue…

Hi @dilip_poojari1 - sorry for any disruption to your team’s work.

Some questions for you:

What OS are you currently running? Is your team all running on the same OS?

It sounds like it’s more than one file this happens on – is that correct? Or is it one file one?

Does the slowness travel across the web version of Figma, in addition to the desktop app?

Are there large libraries, a large amount of components, and/or a lot of prototyping flows in the file[s] that run slowly?

Can you try duplicating one of the problematic files, and see if it still runs slowly?

Usually, lower performance issues stem from complex/large files. Every browser has its own active memory limit. This can differ across devices, but the general understanding is there’s an active memory limit of 2GB per browser tab.

As Figma is built on browser-based technologies, these limitations apply even when you’re using Figma’s desktop applications.

If your entire team is having this trouble, I’m thinking you’re starting to hit the memory limit. Try to see if the steps on this help page help clear up some of these issues: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040528173-Reduce-memory-usage-in-files
