Weird issue with extra pages for a form-type mobile app

Hi,
Sorry if this is an extremely stupid question, I’m completely new to Figma and UI design in general. I’m working on the UI for a form-type mobile app - and when I prototype it, despite me only using 3 frames, 11-12 pages generate. Each individual form component takes up a page for some weird reason. Can I understand why this is happening, and how to fix this please?

Thank you in advance

Hi there,

Thanks for starting to use Figma and for posting! There’s no such thing as a stupid question.

Generally, a component itself doesn’t create a page in the prototype view. If you have a frame that wraps some components, instances, or objects, it creates a page in the prototype. I tried to explain this in the image below.

Can you check again if there’re any frames in your file?

If you still have the issue, would you be able to share the file link with access to support-share@figma.com? It won’t affect your billing. I hope I can investigate it further.

Thanks,
Toku

Hi Toku,

Thank you for the prompt and very kind reply  I’ve attached the file below with access to the email you mentioned. Please do let me know what I can do in this scenario - and thank you for your help and support in advance.

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing the file link. I checked your file and found out some layers are not within the iPhone frame, which is why the pages are visible in the preview. Once you move the layers beneath the iPhone layers, the pages will no longer be visible in the preview. ↓

I hope this works!

Thanks,
Toku
