Hi,
After creating a button component and clicking on the text field to add the text property (under the text parameters), when I get to the main component, the variant doesn’t appear.
When I and add a variant of the button, Figma doesn’t care about my text property, it reacts as if there is no “current variant”.
After investigating many forums about this problem, the “variant” of the text property does not display when it is supposed to.
I have tried so many things to get this right, starting from scratch, updating Figma…, etc.

This looks odd. We are not aware of this issue, and I can’t reproduce it on my end 
. To cover some basics, here a guide to prepare your variant. Please make sure you are using a consistent naming system.
It would be great if you can share a quick video recording to better visualise your issue. Feel free to to reach out directly to the support team with a copy of your file so they can try to replicate here.
