Show colour variables hex code

James_Lawrie

It would be great if you could see a colour variables hex code when assigning a variable to an elements fill / stroke.

Currently, Figma allows users to create and manage color variables. However, it would be incredibly helpful to users if we could display the corresponding hex codes for these color variables. Video

Yeah. In my startup most of the time they refer to a color by hex code. I have faced inconvenience finding it.

Thanks for the feedback!

We’ll pass this onto our Variables team for future consideration.

This will a great improvement to this menu

Hi, this is critical. I have three colleagues with the same problem. Maybe showing hex in a tooltip.

This would a great improvement, especially if you share your design with extern people.

As someone coming in to a team’s design system I’m having to find components and break them or their colors to find some of the details. There really needs to be a way to see this info and compare with a reference/design system component.

It could be a great use of AI to scan your color use or rounding values, fonts or anything else, scan preexisting designs and tell you something like “existing elements with a similar design use this defined color value”, show you can example and let you go with that color. Similarly it could be amazing to let you apply standard components you’re creating to preexisting designs to make them consistent as you go.
