“I would like to lock group access so I can not select inside.” : Just for your information, you can lock group access by following these steps:

1. Hover over the layer in the Layers Panel until the appears.


2. Click the padlock to lock the layer. Figma will close the padlock next to the layer in the Layers Panel.


3. If this is a frame or group, then any children of that frame/group will also be locked.


4. You will no longer be able to edit the layer in the canvas.


5. Click the padlock again to unlock the layer.

Locking isn’t the issue. I probably explained it incorrectly since the only term I have is “lock.” Locking also removes your ability to move elements, which is not what I’m looking for.

What I would like is the ability to limit how deep I can click so that I can only select groups with CTRL + Click, and not the elements inside them. This would allow me to quickly select groups and move them around. Otherwise, I have to CTRL + Click and then navigate through the layers in the Finder to move up until I find the right group that I need to drag.

This feature would be awesome as it would allow us to lock selections by components only and quickly drag components around and inside other groups.
