Something changed in the direct click-select (CTRL click here on Windows), so that Figma seems to be deciding somehow which levels of Frames are directly selectable or not. It happens only to Frames, and I couldn´t figure out the rule.
This is making it really hard for me to manipulate deeper Frames, forcing me to select neighbors or contained items, or to use the keyboard and the “Layers” panel as I never had to.
Is it a bug or something I will have to learn, notice, think, adapt and change all my working files?
Hello @Gino_Rodrigues1, Thanks for flagging this! I understand the frustration when something is not working as it did before.
As a Mac user, I have noticed that the deep select feature is working as expected. I am able to select a nested layer by holding down the ⌘ Command key while moving the mouse to focus on a nested layer and clicking.
Unfortunately, I do not have access to a Windows system to test this myself. If you haven’t tried yet, could you please attempt the following quick fixes as a first step?:
Close any Figma tabs you’re not using
Browser: Force-quit and open Figma in a new browser window.
Desktop App: Force-quit the Figma Desktop app and restart it.
I happen to have the same problem on Mac (16", intel, 2019). When cmd+click for a deep selection, it seems not to work with frames, they are not selectable with this method.
I have tried following the troubleshooting checklist but it did not solve the problem.
Hi there, Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
I tested agin, but Deep select while holding the command key is working OK for me as detailed here: Select layers and objects
