Please I lost a large work. An untitled file. Anyway to recover this? It just went from view only to being deleted. Can’t find it.
Hi there! Sorry to hear this is happening! Do you know at least one editor with can edit access to this file?
If a file’s original project still exists, anyone with can edit
access can restore a file. This will also restore the file for anyone who had access to it at the time of deletion.
To restore a file:
- Open your Drafts
- Locate the file you want to restore on the Deleted tab.
- Right-click on the file and click Restore. The file will then be restored to the project it originally resided in.
To see all available files that can be restored, please make sure that you also set the “Created by” filter to “anyone” rather than “you.” You, and anyone else who had access to edit that file should be able to find it and restore it this way.
Here’s a guide from our Help Center with more information on this: Delete and restore files.
Note: The restore option does not display if you had can view
access to a file or if its parent project gets deleted, then you won’t be able to restore the file to its original location. Instead, you can duplicate the file your Drafts .
If this doesn’t help, please reach out to the support team with the link of your file (if you can’t share it publicly): here
Our team support can check the permission’s rights of your file and helps you to recover it. Be sure to use your Figma account email, include a link to the file, and share it with support-share@figma.com. Hope this helps!
