This is a somewhat complex issue but I’m going to explain it as simply as possible.
A library has been shared with me, but since I am outside of that organization I’m not able to utilize any of the library’s components (due to Figma’s limitations on cross-organization sharing).
I have copied the library and published it within my own organization but certain items are not identified as components that I am able to use in other files. These items are marked as child components (open diamond) and I don’t have acces to the master component (error of “You don’t have access to this file” when I click the “Go to main component” option).
For most of these items, in the right-click menu when the item is selected, I can choose the “Create component” option that essentially creates a new master. However, if the item has a complex variant setup it wipes all of those settings clean.
Is there any option to preserve the variants when creating a component from these items?
