Annotations are a great idea, but I think it would be beneficial to allow them to be added without being in dev mode. When something is marked for dev its already a finalised design. Adding annotations before marking as dev mode would save time and allow annotations to be added as we go along.
Hi all, A lot of the time when I’m presenting designs, I will either put together a static slide deck with annotations, or I will walk through the interactive prototype in Figma. One downside with using the interactive prototype is that it’s not possible to annotate designs, in order to show notes and give people a better understanding of what I’m presenting. I understand that comments can be added, and ideally I would talk through the design myself, but having annotations that are constantly visible would be a great help. I noticed Adobe XD has this, as it displays a panel on the right hand side with all notes. Figma has this feature in Design mode, but when in Prototype mode, these comments can only be viewed one at a time. Does anyone else have this issue? Are there any plugins or workarounds that people have used to get around this? Thanks in advance!
Hello, Figma Community! Are you looking for creative ways to grow your social media presence? 🚀 I’m excited to introduce you to GrowSocialFans.com , a platform that helps you amplify your social media influence by providing services like real followers, views, and engagement on platforms including LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and more. As designers and creators in the Figma community, having a strong social media presence can significantly increase your reach and opportunities. I’m here to explore how we can integrate social media growth strategies into Figma workflows : Design templates for social media posts: Leverage Figma’s collaboration features to create branded content faster. Brand consistency for social media campaigns: Use shared design systems for a cohesive look across all platforms. Collaboration with GrowSocialFans: Combine the power of Figma for content creation with GrowSocialFans’ social media boosting services to gain visibility and credibility. I’d love to hear how
There is a variable option for text strings that pulls in the value of a variable. I would like to an option to apply a variable name to a text string. This would allow my design system documentation to be dynamic based on the changes I make to the variable names. I used this option in Tokens Studio and it was incredibly useful.
Where is absolute position option is there in Figma in latest version? is the name changed as “ignore auto layout”?
The new feature of copy and pasting variables over to new collections is a great addition, however its not currently usable. One major improvement that needs to happen— when pasting into the new collection the order of the variables is completely messed up, it should retain the organization from the original list. Also better yet it would be immensely helpful to just have a duplicate collection option. Thanks for all your hard work Figma team.
With the new update, we have a great new feature, but unfortunately, it’s not usable with our component structure. Exposing all props of a nested instance also exposes props that we don’t want in the context of the consuming component. What if we could also select which properties to expose? This would lead to a cleaner sidebar with only valid props.
Hi! I keep getting view requests from random email addresses, so I think that my shareable link was leaked. How can I change the existing link so I can share it again ONLY with the people I want to give access? Thanks!
Hello! Please help me to figure out the problem. Autosave doesn't work both in the web version and in the desktop app. Every time after moving files into a frame or any other actions, I'm warned that the changes have not been saved. Plugins aren't loaded, there have been situations when I was able to load them, but then the page started to freeze. I've tried logging in with and without VPN, both through the browser and through the app, it still doesn't work. I've cleaned the cache and the memory on the PC. I've tried to create a new Figma account. I've tried to log in through another PC. I've also tried to change the browser. Tried the same thing with the wi-fi. Nothing helps. I really look forward to your help in solving this i ssue.
I’m trying to assign a variable to a component instance so that I can switch instances when clicking. I’m trying to learn how to use variables to create a less intensive way to setup prototypes that have a lot of ‘buttons’ that switch between content. With the screenshot I’ll share, I have it manually rigged up so clicking the pill button on the left panel changes it’s state to selected, makes the clicked pill become selected, and changes the content panel on the right with the related text. I looked over a few videos and I feel like I could could be done similarly to what’s done in this video, where clicking the color box changes the selected alien character. Just replacing the color box with my pill buttons and the alien with my text. But I’m having trouble seeing how to easily assign the variable to my selection. How might I be able to do this without manually rigging up a ton of prototype connections? By the way this is my own personal project not actual hired work for the agency s
Hi I started a company with a custom email last year which I don’t have access to anymore. I was charged a renewal yearly subscription. Can I get this money refunded ASAP? Thanks. I do not want the subscription.
All of a sudden any component I drag from the assets menu or choose from a plug in like MaterialUI disappears as soon as it hits my canvas. I can see the bounding box of the frame highlighted in purple, but there is no content inside. I also can’t copy/paste anything into the file. I’ve tested on desktop and web multiple, and it persists. The kicker is that this is only happening in one file. Is there some kind of weird setting I accidentally enabled with an accidental keyboard shortcut? I’m so confused and also now literally can’t do my work…. Thanks!
Hi Figma Community, I am seeking urgent help with recovering my hacked Figma account. My account was recently breached, and the email address associated with it was changed without my consent. I need assistance to: Restore my account to its original status, including access to all my files and data. This situation is critical, and I’d appreciate any guidance or support from the community and Figma’s support team to resolve it as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your help! Best regards,Siddhit ShahTicket #1231742).
I’ve gone through all the memory/performance improvement steps for the desktop app. The only thing I haven’t done is break up my files. To be clear. These very same files worked just fine prior to UI3. So I don’t think the problem is really the files. The only way I can break up my component lib (which is smaller than any I’ve seen in the community) would be to put variables in one lib, text styles in another, inputs in another, etc. The only way I can make my files smaller would be to only have 1 page per file. Most of the performance threads I’ve seen are around specific issues or prototypes. My performance issues are with any and every aspect of Figma. Loading files being the most annoying. I’m also on an M2 Ultra Mac Studio with 192 GB of memory. It’s not my setup. Is UI3 just worse all around on memory?
I am encountering a CORS error in my Figma plugin. Previously, it was working fine after adding entries in the manifest.json for networkAccess. My current configuration is: "networkAccess": { "allowedDomains": [ "*" ], "devAllowedDomains": [ "*" ], "reasoning": "Dev Purpose" } Despite using "*", the plugin has started giving CORS errors recently. Is there any change in how Figma handles networkAccess, or is there something else I need to check to resolve this issue?
Hi there, i am super curious about the Figma AI features. I am waiting for the features for a few months now also get the Figma AI features (even created multiple accounts increase the chance to get access). Is there something or a website to sign up for some kind of beta beta version of Figma AI. Would be open to give feedback.
Sorry, the title is wrong. I can’t update it. I have a problem where the text in the component and its instances doesn’t update when I change the font weight in the text styles. styles does not update to reflect changes made to the component. Steps: - I created a button component, and the text in the button uses text styles - The font in the text styles is linked to a variable Issue: When I change the font weight in the text styles, the button text in both the component and its instances doesn’t update. Note: this issue only happen when the font is linked to a variable. Figma file here
