Is there a way to disable the previews that show up when you hover a tab at the top of the Figma interface? I have not bveen able to find a setting.

There is currently no way to turn off tab previews on hover. I’ve updated your topic into a feature request, and I’ll pass this feedback onto our team for future consideration.
As a workaround, your hover preview is the thumbnail you chose for your file. Choosing a minimal thumbnail may help for now, even though it won’t turn off the setting all together. More info on how to set your thumbnail here:
