Community files create a lot of clutter to the already chaotic file management in Figma. In my opinion, having a separate tab for community files would help greatly. There should be some way to segregate personal files from community files in Figma.

Why is there no button to restore my main component after it is deleted?

Problem occurs when working with others, be it more designers or, especially for Developers. The issue is that there might be slight changes to a Design file (the source of truth) but they’d not notice them cause that’d mean they’d have to carefully check every single frame again and compare it with what was developed already. Of course it’s possible to try to highlight it in some sense, or create multiple pages or frames with only the changes. Or describing it in JIRa ticket. But all this is duplicate work, frankly, a waste of time. And with these approaches you also lose “The source of truth” that Figma should be. A place where a QA will come and check that everything’s fine for example. How do you guys solve it?

Hi Figma team, I’d like to share some thoughts. The Dev Mode is undoubtedly helpful for designers in facilitating seamless design handoffs. Here’s an idea: what if engineers could manipulate theme modes directly within the Dev Mode? This way, they could inspect both light and dark modes without relying on designers to toggle the theme in Editor Mode. It could streamline collaboration and enhance the overall workflow.

Make text style changes the same way color styles work: being able to select all frames and swap styles from the right column that applies to every instance. Situation: If you need to swap the font styles used in a project in bulk; you need to edit the style definition but you cannot swap a style with another one the same way you can do with colors. Example: You have a white label product where you need to swap a style with another from the design system. For colors, you can CTRL+A and select every frame, and change the colors you want from the right column controls with a few clicks. For text styles, you have to go to each element using that style, and change it one by one. I see that this was flagged more than a year ago but did not have any discussion over it - community input welcome as I cannot find a way around this yet.

Problem: When calling getLocalPaintStyles the result doesn’t have a thumbnail_url like when using the rest API for team styles. Goal: use the getLocalPaintStyles to populate a list of shared styles. Proposed solution: Add thumbnail_url to the return object of getLocalPaintStyles

With the current functionality it is possible to simulate checkboxes. But for all component that might work as a radio buttons (Tabs, switcher, radios, selection) we can only use the new functionality for the Hovering aspect.

In FigJam, when choosing a custom colour to fill a shape or a different outline colour, it would be so helpful for new colours to be added to the palette so you can easily choose the colours in future. It’s annoying having to keep the hex codes on the page and copying them before colouring a new shape/element that isn’t easily copyable.

I like the mirror. Only you always have to select the frame to see it in the mirror. What I would like is a mirror that always shows what I am editing without me having to select the frame. Here in Adobe XD works Do you want that too! So click on the button “vote” on top

When selecting a specific shape, only a limited number of options are available to Change its shape. The full menu of making a shape is more expansive than what is offered when it comes time to making changes. This makes workflows very difficult.

It would be nice to have some kind of visual reference next to variables that have been hidden from publishing. Working with complex variable structures and multiple collections, it gets easy to lose track of which variables are hidden and which are public. Only current way to track this is by going into the edit menus.

User Story: As a FigJam user collaborating on expansive boards, I want a draggable map feature similar to tools in MIRO and Adobe Photoshop. This will optimize navigation, allowing seamless zooming and panning for improved usability.

I’ve tried to ask the AI to do little things like “make a little box to show new FigJam users how to add a sticky note” or “make a few boards for a workshop including ‘problems’, ‘solutions’, ‘experiments’”, and every time it’s going way over the top trying to run my whole session for me, coming up with its own meeting summaries and action items for a meeting that hasn’t even happened yet. Please dial it back.

So I have a link on a page that if clicked should enable another form or section further down the page, and if unchecked, hides it. The ideal is that if it shows it, the auto-layout adjust the page and vice versa. In CSS it would mimic a div that is set to display: none; and the click turns it to display: block; Is there something in the works for this or a workaround through a plugin?

Really enjoying using stamps in FigJam, but I would love it if a green checkmark was added to the stamp menu. I’m trying to use a FigJam document for documenting my process, and as part of that I would like to be able to use items in my document as a sort of checklist as I work, checking off requirements as they are met. Either that, or the ability to choose an arbitrary stamp that can live in my stamps menu, or some way of stamping emojis in a FigJam file without plugins and without having to create a text object. figjam

Hi all, Recently I’ve been having some trouble in regards to sustaining text and terminology across multiple flows. I know of the ability of ‘replace all’ and also am aware of the ability to use text variables in components. However, I would like to be able to define text variables on a global scope. Where I define certain texts in a single art-board, and can then refer to them elsewhere in the page / file. Perhaps even use those text values across multiple documents like a design system file. I would like to know how other people deal with this issue, as replace all can be quite unreliable. Kind regards, Thomas

When building a design system I base a lot of values on some sort of root token. When speaking about font sizes or spacings this becomes pretty clear what I am speaking about. Think of a base spacing variable „spacing-sm-base“ which holds the value „8“. Then I want to create another variable „spacing-md“ which holds the value „{spacing-sm-base}*2“ (multiplying the nested value with the factor 2) I could then create another spacing variable nesting the previously built {spacing-md} and multiply it by a certain factor or divide it or add another value. Basically using math, like it is already possible in token studio. Would be nice to see that natively

When copying and pasting components from another project (Project B) to the one we are currently working on (Project A), it would be useful to give us the option to match and replace styles with the same name. For example: For Project A I need to add a communication form on the “Contact Us” page. Since I have already worked on a similar form for Project B, I want to reuse the same form master component, instead of creating another one from scratch. For Project A I use color styles such as “Light Gray”, “Dark Gray”, “Icon color”. This is the same style structure I used for Project B as well. When I paste the component from Project B on Project A, Figma recognizes that I use the same naming system for my color styles. Figma then opens up a pop-up window with the following message: "These 3 color styles use the same name. Would you like to adjust and replace the newly added styles to the ones you are already using on “Project A name”? Yes/No/Don’t show again this messafe for this file.

Describe the problem your experiencing and how your idea helps solve this When editing text on the canvas, I expect CTRL + D to delete forward. Figma does support some of these OS level behaviors when editing text in the canvas (e.g., CTRL + H, CTRL + K), just not uniformly. What I find most frustrating is that CTRL + D works when editing the names of Layer and Page names in the left panel. Add as much context as possible (screenshots, Figma files, mockups, etc.) See Mac Keyboard Shortcuts Ask questions to bring the community into the conversation (e.g. Does anyone else experience this? Is anyone using a plugin or workaround to help solve this?, etc. Would anyone else like to see more canonical keyboard shortcuts available when editing inside a text frame?

If you move any boxes with arrows or lines, they all develop gnarly kinks in the lines. Can you please fix it so that they auto-adjust? If I select a group of boxes and arrows and move them somewhere, the lines should all try to straighten out to the closest distance. Any text on the lines should also move with it in the right proportion. Right now, if I shorten a line, the text on it will go all over which way. Keep it fixed where I placed it.

I was excited for the new Component Properties and how they might simplify my components, but I haven’t been able to make much use of it because most of my components involve nested components, which the Component Properties can’t control. For example: Suppose you have a Modal component, which has within it a Button component. You may want the Modal component to have a Component Property for the Button’s CTA text - but that’s not possible. It is possible to override the visibility and text within nested components, so it seems like Component Properties should be able to control this. Also, I’ve already built countless components so that all of the variants are based on one master component. Component Properties can’t be used for these at all since they’re entirely nested components. If I detach all the instances, I’m worried that will undo all of the overrides in designs when the component is published. Hopefully a future update will allow Component Properties to control nested compone

Apparently shift-enter allows us to duplicate a variable but that is NOT discoverable—so a right-click menu option would be great. Additionally there isn’t a way to move variables between collections, so that would be the next useful menu option.

I love the “Spotlight me” feature, but it’d be great if we can also have a “Spotlight this person” feature so that way, I can spotlight my PM partner or some other non-designer instead of needing to ask them to spotlight themselves or have everyone click on that person’s icon to follow them.

Kindly integrate Visual Lansa with Figma so we can develop no code low code cross platform application and ERP solutions on Figma.

In the new Figma version, selecting and changing fonts is not convenient. 1 In the new version not possible to select texts and switch between the fonts by arrows up/down to see which font text looks better 2 The name of the font can’t be copied. Can you back Figma’s text settings behavior to the previous behavior? Thank You
