Currently the only way for Organizational account administrators to remove unused seats (Design, FigJam or Dev Mode) in our respective account is by contacting the Support Team. I did just that a week before our annual subscription renewal to remove 2 unassigned seats before our invoice was issued and no one replied in time to get the seats removed, so the invoice was sent for the higher price. I spent the last month going back and forth with the Support Team arguing that we should not have to pay this extra cost as I followed procedure for updating our account and finally got Figma to issue a new invoice, but we should not have to go through that process to administer our accounts. Administrators can easily add seats at any time they wish, so it makes sense that during the 2-week review period before a subscription renews or a quarterly “True-up” we should also be able to remove unused seats ourselves and not have to rely on the Support Team, which becomes a bottleneck.
When you resize an element with right constraints inside a parent layer, the element expands towards the right and off the page (layer). I can’t think of a scenario where I would want this behavior. When I set a constraint, I don’t want to readjust the spacing from where it was originally while editing. Can anyone think of an example where this would not be desired behavior?
In Figma two distinctively different features seem to have been mixed up. Remove vector point Open up vector When you remove a vector point, the vector is opened up automatically. There doesn’t seem to be a way to remove a vector point without opening up the vector. There doesn’t seem to be a way to open up a vector in a certain spot For me this has an impact on my efficiency. I rarely have the need to open up a vector when removing a vector point. But I have the need to add/remove vector points regularly. I never have the need to open up a vector by creating a gap by removing a vector point. I have the need of ‘cutting’ a vector at a precise location, resulting in two new vector points close to each other. As these seem to be basic features (KANO) for vector editing, I keep on looking if there isn’t something I am overlooking but I can’t seem to find ways to either just remove a vector point, or two open up a vector. Am I overlooking things maybe?
The search/replace function is fast and powerful, but it seems we can’t have it focus on the current selection. It only searches either the whole page or the whole file. I often want a replacement to apply to select elements only, for that I would love to make my selection and then ask search/replace to only do its magic on that selection.
Is it possible to change the mode of the frame on protoype click? The only way I can find is to have two frames set as different modes and move between them.
It would be really great to be able to embed figma frame or prototype links into GitHub, similar to how its possible with Dropbox paper, Jira, trello, etc.
It could be so much more simple to crop images in Figma. I am always adding screen shots for inspiration or to build on top of for quick prototyping. How might we make it less than the current 4 clicks to be able to simply crop an image? That is my challenge and request to the Figma product and design team. Thank you for your time.
Help teams/users to organise and manage prototype flows. 😀 🛠️
A colleague usually sends me link of the section, or comment that I need to look at. And what happens when I click on it? Well I usually have multiple tabs from multiple profiles open on my Chrome browser. So when I click on the link, first it makes up its own mind where it wants to open. So what do I do, I copy the link and paste it in the right window. Sorted, opens in the desktop app. But wait, now there are multiple windows in the desktop app as well, and I wanna open it on the other one. No way to do it right now. If it’s a Figma link, maybe add an option somewhere to paste the link and open that file in the desktop app.
Add a SCROLL BY interaction where the user can set Y and X offsets and each time that trigger is called (for example, On Click), the target frame scrolls by the amount set. It could take positive and negative amounts on X and Y, so that the user has control in all directions as long as the frame scrolling settings allow for it. Case: I’m working on components for prototyping screens. I have an image slider that allows the designer to hide and show placeholders for images depending on the number of images they want to test in their prototype. Since the quantity of images is customizable, I cannot use “Scroll To” because the element might not be visible. This is a case where a SCROLL BY 100 PIXELS would be useful, but there are many others, like emulating scrolling parallax and breakpoints. Edit: spelling
I love Figma, but… Paid Dev-Mode — It’s not FigJam, it’s not a separate product. It’s part of the design. It’s an artificial separation to appear valuable. The only value is that you don’t need to press “Alt” to see spacing - that’s it. You can’t force all developers to pay for so many places. 🧊 Switching modes frezes. 😓 The links from the developers opens in dev mode, although I was on this page in edit mode 🗨️ Annotations? Really? Do you remember that there are comments? Maybe they were the ones that needed to be improved? ⌨️ 25$ seat for auto-«Alt» button??? Limitations of Variables 🪙 Functionality is completely disabled for free plans, how are designers supposed to be trained to do this? From YouTube tutorials? 📛 4 rows for Pro. That’s enough for basic use, but the limitations are strongly felt. Every time you try to open the fifth column you are told you to pay more Team list — impossible dark-pattern level to imag
As product designer, I use a lot of prototypes that should simulate the user typing (Inputs, Docs, forms etc.) it would be amazing to have the ability to simulate the writing of text as a text animation in prototypes, like the typewriter animation in keynote (maybe even with an option to add a typing cursor)
Would love to be able to see recent text changes in FigJam. (We’ve moved to FigJam from Miro, and this is one of only two things we miss. The other being vertical alignment of text in boxes.)
Yesterday I came across a nice detail, by accident: When you begin to drag an interaction noodle, if you hold the OPTION key on Mac while dragging, the interaction will change into a Swap overlay interaction. This allows me to create Swap overlays very quickly indeed. Why not add more of these, for instance holding SHIFT could make it a Open overlay interaction, etc. In that example, the interaction settings popover would still open because Open overlay has a number of options I may want to tune, but at least the interaction type (Open overlay) would be already set in the dropdown. Those are tiny details, but we do those actions millions of times a day…
The ability to use a ternary operator in variable expressions would make dramatically increase the ways that variables and expressions could be used. Beyond that the current conditional action only allows for a binary set of options but since ternary expressions could be nested we could effectively have elseif conditions. They are a native operator for JS so I would think it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to add them in.
Sharing menu in a document should show emails of other people on doc, not first name
When you select any object and drag it beyond your canvas’ border, the canvas starts to scroll to follow you. For some reason this does NOT work when you drag a comment. So it is sometimes a bit painful to move a comment to a far away place.
Make it possible to add images to comments. I created a new topic, because these older ones were closed: Comment with attached Image Share an idea My Commentor usually sends feedback with a reference image. But they have to send it by link or even by direct message. It takes me a lot of time to collect comments and images they send. I have so many pages and comment in Figma. My problem will be solved easily if Figma lets me comment with an attached Image. Like overflow.io, this tool has a good comment system, more natural. [demo] Add images/screenshots on add comments Share an idea Can you please add “upload image” feature when someone tries to add a comment? or just paste a copied image as their comment. Because oftentimes I want to share a reference design image for a particular section and then I have to paste the image URL. But often times I have the image already downloaded on my PC so then I have to share the image manu
I hope Figma can implement a feature in FigJam where the names of Sections can be set up as a table of contents. By clicking on a “Section name” in the table of contents, the view would jump to the center of that Section.
It would be nice to have the ability to refine my selection from the Select Matching Layers button to a specific scope. Ex: Select Matching Layers → Visible/In this frame/In this section/In this file My use case might be unique, but I have many screens with many grids. By selecting a column header and then selecting matching layers, I would love to be able to limit that broader selection in a few different ways, so that the matching layers in one set of screens isn’t selected despite being matching layers (I don’t want to select them). Not difficult to unselect what I don’t want if I zoom all the way out or generally understand what could have been selected after pressing the button, but I’ve seen this result in some unexpected changes occurring where I didn’t intend them to - only to discover this much later.
I was using a workaround where I had separators in my project list so i could organise the files better but now they have scrapped that feature and can only see each individual project with no grouping. Please introduce better file organisation!!
When you navigate to a main component from an instance there is an awesome button that allows you to “return to instance”. This ability should also exist for links that navigate you to a frame within a file!
Hey, I would like to see the possibility to pin simple plugins like “Sorter” or “Pixel Perfect” to the workspace. Some plugins are used very often and it would save a lot of time and mouse clicks to not have to open them again and again. what do you think?
Me previous sidebar is no longer available as its projects are linked to different teams.
Its a bit frustrating when working with many colors you have to click three times to view all the colors. Show selection colors button See all X colors button Sell all library colors button If you could pin these open it would save a lot of time. I have not seen a plugin that will list all the colors and provide the “quick replace” / “select using” functions of the native interface. But if it exists let me know please.
