When working on multiple files at a time -the old UI with black header was much easier to differentiate b/w Figma and fig jam files. Now, I have spend 4 sec to look for the exact file I want to click on.
As a design systems designer with a Design team of 75+ designers I want to bulk swap an entire component library with a similar but updated library So that when I’m syncing Figma Libraries between two or more separate Figma Organizations, I can easily replace a whole component library at the library level instead of needing designers to swap libraries per Figma project file. This feature would use some existing workflows and interfaces for choosing, comparing, and merging/swapping components in bulk. This swap should be treated as publishing a new update to the existing library and still require Designers to “accept” the changes. New components or existing components with a different name, should be treated as introducing a new component into the library. Open Questions: How are new components handled within the updated library after the swap? How are design elements that aren’t components handled within a library swap? To give a specific example of how this scenario appears. Organ
I have sure the most Figma’s users separate their assets in a page called by “Assets” and cant link the interaction “navigate to” to a component to another frame in the main page. Please, vote to Figma’s team add a way that we could use navigate to on a component in a different page from another.
Hello! When a stakeholder leaves comments on a design, we make changes that involve adding/removing sections, changing their heights, etc. What this does is that now, after I’ve made the change, all the comments underneath that change haven’t moved, but the design has changed. Just like comments move when you move the whole artboard, could we not have comments move inside an artboard when sections disappear? If a 300px section disappears, all comments underneath that should move 300px up, to ensure that all comments stay placed on top of where they were intended to. Otherwise, you end up with a lot of “I don’t like this, can we change it?” on top of something it was not meant to be on top of.
Double clicking the edge of an element to change its width/height property is neat, but finding and clicking edges can be error prone and finicky, especially with nested objects. It’s also hard to remember which property is for regular double clicking and which is for option/alt. It would be super convenient and fun if I could just hit w or h to cycle through hug, fill, and fixed. Easy to remember, easy to execute.
As a user… 😁 I wish I could set the default styles per Figma elements separately. For example: Text will get a grey fill The square will have a different grey filling The section will have a green stroke with a 10px stroke etc… Who is with me??
There is a bug in the copy link to selection function. When using the pop up menu and selecting “copy link to selection” it will copy the link to the exact thing that I’ve selected (yay!) The “copy link to selection” function also has a shortcut key, ⌘L (yay!) When using the ⌘L shortcut the link copied only points to the frame/section that the selected object is within, not the original selection. This means that the pop up menu option and the shortcut for that menu option will point to two different links (boo!)
In my workflow, I need to scale a lot of content by width (in pixels), rather than setting the multiplier. In the old UI, I could just hit K + tab and enter in the width value. In the new UI, because width is now above the multiplier input field and the multiplier field is focused by default, I have to hit K, then hold shift and then tab + tab + tab to get to the width input. This has added noticeable friction to the keyboard shortcut especially when having to scale lots of objects in succession. Please consider moving the multiplier input field to the top, or have the first input field (width) selected by default. Thank you!
I think this is basic features, custom line style dashed (now it like dotted style) line size (now have Thin,Thick. User should be custom line’s stroke weight flexible, Ex. figjam have select size option) color (should be add more color) this features should be flexible ✌️ ✌️
I believe it is a known issue that the link for mentions in comments may not take you to the proper location. Has anyone considered adding the notification number to the email. It would allow me to efficiently find the comment and provide my input.
I got some trouble when opening almost 80% of my plugin, that cant be clicked, interact or do anything but closing the plugin itself, example of that is after i open [webp convertion] plugin, it just open the window, but cant be clicked or interact, and i can only close the plugin.
Please bring the floating panels BACK! why did you remove them??? based on unprofessional users??? at list give us the option to choose…
Figma newbie here, Say I’m designing an iPhone app, and I know that with my specific display, around 80% zoom level in Figma is the right size compared to the physical size of the phone. While working, I’ll zoom in and out without much care for exactness, but every now and then I’d like to jump to the precise value of 80% zoom to check the text sizes and whatnot. The only way I know of doing this is clicking the zoom input in the top-right corner, typing in 80 and then Return. Not exactly terrible, but still annoying if repeated dozens or hundreds of times a day. Is there a way to create a shortcut for custom zoom levels? If not, any other alternatives?
Our Figma user base is very large and is organized into the Workspaces. It would be helpful for the Workspace admins to be able to upgrade/downgrade seats within their workspace.
FigJam is currently pretty limited when it comes to architecture diagrams. We really need the ability, like other diagramming tools, to add customer connection points onto all shapes so that lines can attach in more than just 4 places.
Only horizontal text alignment is available. There’s no option to center the texts vertically inside a cell in a table
It would be really helpful to either display in description the file name for an image asset - even when exporting the png Figma is relabeling everything and making it incredibly difficult to track stock image source …
There are a lot of WONDERFUL features in Figma, including the new ones! It’s amazing! Lately, Figma has been slow. And getting slower. Bugs are more frequent. Even with a very small file (one page and a dozen screens) the file loads slow (not a huge issue), but the Prototyping is even slower. I have hover states on my buttons, and there’s about a 500ms delay for when they show up. I can’t run usability tests where it works that poorly. It would make most of my data useless. I tried various things to speed it up: Removing Hover States Removing Smart Animate Simply other aspects of variant-prototype interactions Still it’s slow. My impression is that, due to the lifecycle of Figma, we’re at the stage where feature bloat begins (have to have something new and sexy to make investors happy), features get locked behind different plans (like FigJam and Dev mode, but this one makes sense to me), and stability and speed suffers. I’m likely wrong as to the reasons (and definitely incomplete),
There’s discussion about making the toolbar moveable – sure that works but at least make the component and action menu more central in the meantime.
As someone who loves to use the old-school Component Variants, I often create components with multiple variant properties (sometimes more than 10). I sometimes create all of the variants of a component as frames, then select “Create component set” and organize my properties afterwards. My big problem with the current way that variants are handled is the following flow: There is something deeply disorienting about the popover covering my whole screen and asking for both a property name and the initial value. Even when I have a clear idea of what I want to do (e.g add a property called “Color” with variants “Dark” and “Light”), the mere visual of this popup often makes me forget what I wanted to type in the first place. I would love for this small interaction to go back to how it was in 2021, where the property gets added directly into the sidebar with default values (like “Property 1” and “Default”), with the ability to change the values afterwards. This would also make it a lot easie
Thanks for your response! I am totally fine with a new keyboard shortcut, I just was not able to find it documented anywhere visible so I probably wouldn’t have figured this out easily. I also suggest considering adding in a “link” icon in the comments pane next to the “add image” and “add mention” buttons, as outside of the shortcuts there isn’t a visible mechanic of adding a link. This might help newer users who are not familiar with the shortcuts.
When a component has a text property (e.g. Button property “label”) it would be great if when using the button you can set that text property to be a text variable. In the same way you can do so for variants
Provide the ability in prototypes to apply sticky functions to components when auto layout is applied in a prototype. Removing auto layout can make things messy especially when iterating on components that are in the prototype and heights change.
Currently it requires me to select a frame or whatever context and then inserting the component. This is pretty counter intuitive and even after working for years in Figma I can’t adopt it since it’s completely different that any other copy paste mechanism on the internet.
Hello my dear Figma UX team, It’s not an idea, it’s a fucking request. Fix zoom, so it’s possible to see whole page when you review design with whole team. This can be solved buy adding 75% zoom. Thank you fucking much. If this is not done, by next week, I will find and I will teach you proper UX. Best, Martins Pilskalns
