Add button and shortcut for fill container

Fill container should be a button. Right now there’s a button and keyboard shortcut for hug, but fill is just as if not more important, yet it has neither a shortcut nor a button.

If hug is a button, it also doesn’t make any sense for unclicking it to do nothing. You could easily add functionality to switch between states (either hug/fill or hug/fill/fixed) by pressing the button. Instead, currently you can click it once to hug, and then click again to do nothing.

Please add a fill button or make the hug button more functional!

Your feedback makes a lot of sense! Adding a dedicated button for ‘Fill Container’ and enhancing the functionality of the ‘Hug’ button would definitely improve the workflow. It’s a good idea to share these suggestions with the development team of the design tool you’re using. They often appreciate detailed user feedback like this, as it can help them make meaningful improvements to their software.

It’s not the same thing, but I made this plugin to enable more keyboard control, which is kind of like opening up a whole bunch more shortcuts:

Keyboard shortcuts are crucial for speed and efficiency, but Figma offers a pretty limited set and you can't customize them.

Lazer proposes a decent workaround inspired by command line interfaces. It includes a number of common adjustments, each with a short code (see below). When you bring up the Actions input with command + K or command + / and then type a shortcode (eg. w.h), the fuzzy search will be ready to select that action.

Fill and hug width/height short codes are included
