Figma was not running, I was playing a game, and then in the middle of urgent activity in game my game got put to tray and Figma update popup appeared on top of everything. WHAT THE HECK? Is that how you do proper UX? Interrupt whatever I’m doing and tell me that some update is available?
Hi all, I’m excited to share my very first design project with all of you. 🎉 As someone who is just starting out in the world of design, I’ve put a lot of effort into creating something that I’m proud of. However, I also understand that there’s always room for improvement, and that’s where you all come in! I`d really appreciate your feedback, thanks alot. Figma – 22 Aug 23
Hi, It would be great, while copy pasting a comment with a tagged person @, follows in the new comment. It would allow to do not have to re-tag @ people again in the new comment. I hope my feedback is helpful for Figma and users. Loïc
Can it help us add a dark mode in playground to the next version?
In the Figma plugin for Jira, when I share a link to a component, section, or frame it shows the title of the Figma file. It would be more helpful to show the title of what I am linking to so that if multiple links are in a ticket the viewer can have the additional context to tell what the link is for.
Hell, I’m trying to make it easy to select specific variables. I use a collection called “Foundations” that just store all the raw values. I use a collection called “Tokens” that store all the semantic values. When I give an fill to something, I want to be able to only select from the “Tokens” collection. It’s difficult now because “Foundations” appears first and I can’t sort it. Either that or I want to disable the ability to select things from the “Foundations” collection entirely
Prototype links get shared around by various people. Sometimes links are shared from a mid-point of a prototype by copying the url out of the address bar. This is useful for directing to a specific point of the user experience. I’d also like a share option that forces everyone to start from the same page so they are experiencing the full flow instead of jumping into a mid-point if someone unintentionally (or intentionally) shares a different url.
Sorry, but the new design is a total crap. In the previous version a was able to see a lot of list items, and toggle was perfect choice to indicate status of connection to the file. Now I can see only few files, as the unnecessary covers and vibrant buttons consumed all the place here. The button as an indicator of the connection status is very bad solution also.
We can’t group our post-its easily because there’s no artboards in FigJam. Our workaround has been to use shapes as the artboard, but its difficult to select a few post-its as it will move the frame too. We think having artboards and frames will solve this issue. Does anyone else experience this? Do you guys think artboards would help?
I want to reuse FigJam modules between files, such as the timeline of a big project, listing main Figma files, overal customer journey maps,… Now I have to copy paste to multiple FigJam board each time I want to update the module. Of course we can use linking modules but it is not good for collabs.
We add external hyperlinks to inline and standalone text in our Figma UI designs. Both our UX/UI and Frontend teams prefer this to another way of specifying hyperlinks in our designs. Pain points: Clicking hyperlinks always sends us to the external pages. In Dev-Mode the only way to copy the hyperlink in a text is to open the hyperlink in browser and copying the link from browser’s address bar. Possible solutions: Clicking hyperlinks in design and dev mode opens a little info with the actual hyperlink and the option to copy or open it (e.g. similiar to the edit hyperlink function in design mode) Or: Include hyperlinks in the inspect panel
When you get sent a link to a Figma page and you click on it and you’re not logged in, the landing page doesn’t provide a log in button, instead the main action button (the big black one) is the button to create an account… do you guys really expect more hits on specific links to require a new account over a simple login. it’s a small annoyance at best, but the fact that there’s no “keep me logged in” options means that you’ll be logging in quite frequently on Figma… and the fact that it requires an extra click everytime is getting slowly on my nerves
Dear Figma Team, I hope this message finds you well. First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude for creating such an exceptional design tool that has revolutionized the way designers and teams collaborate and create remarkable digital experiences. Your commitment to continuous improvement and user-centric design is truly commendable. I am an avid user of Figma and have been amazed by the capabilities of the platform. As I utilize Figma extensively in my design workflow, I have identified an opportunity for enhancement that I believe could further elevate the user experience and boost productivity for countless designers worldwide. My feature request is as follows: Frame and Auto Layout bring it close cursors Description: Frame and Auto Layout transformation please bring it close to the mouse as the prototype in the latest update. The program will help us minimize our efforts in moving the mouse back and forth. Similar Tools: Latest Figma prototype update which brings all
In our team we like the feature in “Dev Mode” to add a “Dev resource” to a component instance layer or text. When the layer are built with a component this feature do not work. The feature is shown but is not available when click “+” icon. ▶️ TLDR: Add availability to add a Dev resource link for component instances Thank you very much
The current copy/paste action for interactions feels far from obvious and the touch target for this can often be tricky to locate (and potentially not very accessible). I’m wondering if anyone else would find it useful for there to be a button or icon for this action instead so it’s a little bit clearer?
When I select two frames with a different auto layout gap, Figma says the gap is “mixed”. After clicking on the arrow to select a new gap value only “10px” and “Auto” is offered by default. Would it be possible for Figma to suggest all the different values selected - “12px” and “24px” in this example. Seems like a small change to implement, and would also make the UX just a tad bit better 🙂 Proposal: (current is left, proposal is right)
It would be amazing if we could change properties of an instance by right clicking on it and making the changes there instead of having to go to the sidebar. (I would still keep the sidebar ofc) I have a lot of small components, I would like to change their state quickly. Proposal: (current is left, proposal is right)
After you type the name of the variable I think it would be better if we could click enter and finish the job, rather than going to the mouse or touchpad for another unnecessary click
Just like frame naming impacts how Components are structured in the instance swap window… Frame 1 → Master/Component/1 (the instance would be under Frame 1/Master/Component/1) …would it be possible for Sections to behave similar to how Frames function in this regard? I would like to organize my components within sections, and have them impact the naming of the components.
Is it possible to move the “Design” section needed by Figma, to the bottom of the screen in Jira?
I would like to be able to maintain my privacy and safety by being able to block someone on Figma, with whom I have previously shared files with. I wish it was as easy as searching for their name and then clicking block. I would expect the following to happen upon blocking Permission for them to view or edit removed in all files They should be unable to find my profile I am removed from files they have shared in the past They are unable to see my comments or at least tag me in comments The most important thing is removing their access to files I have shared previously. Maybe first version can be batch select files to change privacy settings to only those invited?
It would be super helpful to add the mouse chat of fig jam to regular files when we collaborate on a design. Also, the comments disappear a little too quickly in my opinion
We were excited to start using the new GitHub plugin for Dev Mode, but have been blocked from using it because of the GitHub permissions it is requiring. As Enterprise users, we have compliance requirements to not let any third-party plugins have write access to our repositories, and the plugin currently requires “Full control of private repositories”, which is too broad given the plugin only reads files to display them in the plugin panel. I imagine a lot of companies with similar requirements (and large codebases, which is arguably where that plugin becomes the most useful) are currently blocked with the same issue. Please consider reducing the scope of these permissions so we can start using the plugin 🙂
The order of actions within a single interaction can have unexpected results. I’ve created a component with a checkbox. When the checkbox is clicked, it changes to the “selected” variant and increases a counter of selected items. The problem is the order of these actions. If “Change to” is first, Figma changes the variant and forgets the actions that were after it. If “Change to” is last, Figma runs all actions as expected. This was not obvious to me and I lost a few hours trying to find the issue. My suggestion is to either: Make these two approaches work the same, or Mark the unreachable actions with ⚠️ icon (like it’s done on the Prototype panel when you have Hover and Click on the same element - Click is marked with ⚠️ because it won’t fire).
When you switch from the Editor to a Prototype while in Presentation Mode, observers cannot follow. Today observers need to know which page the prototype entry point is in the Editor, then click the Prototype tab, find the entry point, and then press play, or somehow be given a link to the prototype. We get around this through screensharing prototype demos, but it’d be a lot more convenient to be able to see everything easily in Figma.
