Unable to Access AI Features Despite Professional Subscription - Limit Reached Error

Rithesh Kumar

I am writing to report an issue I'm experiencing with my account. I have a professional subscription, for which I have paid, but I am currently unable to access the AI features.

When I try to use the AI functionality, I receive an error message stating: "Limit reached for this feature until Jul 1, 2025." (Please refer to the attached screenshot for context).

Given that today is June 14, 2025, and I have a professional subscription, I expected to have full access to these features. This limitation is preventing me from utilizing the service as intended, which is crucial for my work.

Could you please investigate this issue and clarify why I am encountering a limit on a paid professional account, especially when the stated limit date is in the past? I would appreciate it if you could restore my access to the AI features as soon as possible.

Please let me know if you require any further information from my end.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Hi @Rithesh Kumar, thanks for bringing this up! I’ll raise this to our product team for a closer look — but first, could you confirm which AI tool you were using, and what kind of tasks you prompted before hitting the usage limit?

For context: Tools like Figma Make do have usage limits, which may change over time. You’ll see an in-product message when you’ve hit the limit, along with a reset timeline. Once Figma Make is generally available, there will be options to purchase higher limits.

Appreciate your patience — we’ll follow up with any updates.

Hey @Rithesh Kumar, just following up with a quick update!

Our product team would like to take a closer look at your account settings. When you get a chance, check the inbox tied to your Figma account for an email from me (look for case number: 1391683). It includes next steps so we can keep things moving. 🙏🏻

Let me know if you don’t see it or if anything gets stuck — happy to help.

Hello, tell me, I have the same problem. No need to try to remove the background by giving it to other users.: The restriction on using this feature is valid until July 1, 2025.

Hey @Alex Tishkov — welcome to the Forum, and sorry you’re running into this, too.

Could you share a few more details about what you're working on when the error pops up? For example, what’s the exact message you're seeing, and are you using a prompt to remove a background design component when it occurs? Any additional context, screenshots, and video recordings around the steps leading up to it would be super helpful.

I also sent over a message so we can take a closer look at the specific file. When you have a moment, check your inbox for a note from me (case number: 1398382).

Hi there, same issue on my end. I’m on Figma’s Professional plan, and while preparing images for my portfolio the Remove Background command throws an error and stops the flow. Any known fixes or work-arounds I can try to keep things moving?
Thanks in advance!

You're seeing the "limit reached" error because you've hit the usage cap for AI features, even with a Professional subscription.

Hey everyone — thanks again for sharing your experiences and questions around usage limits. I’ve marked my earlier reply (which links to the Figma Learn article on AI usage limits) as the best answer so it’s easier for others to find.

If you'd like someone from our Product Support team to take a closer look at specific concerns, reach out and include:

  1. the steps leading up to the error message
  2. a full-size screen recording of the issue (if possible)
  3. a link to the file you’re working in
  4. make sure support-share@figma.com has edit access.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your experiences here — and keep letting us know if other questions come up!
