Fonts Not Loading in Figma – Missing or Replaced?

Hi everyone,

I recently opened my project and noticed that some fonts have been replaced with default system fonts. I checked my installed fonts, and they seem to be there, but Figma still shows a missing font warning.

Could this be an issue with Figma’s font service, or do I need to manually re-install the fonts?

Thanks!

Hi @DanielCruz, Thanks for reaching out about this.

I understand that you're seeing some fonts replaced with default system fonts, even though the fonts appear to be installed on your computer. This issue might not necessarily be caused by Figma Service or Figma Font Helper.

Here are a few common reasons why you might see a missing font alert. Please check if any of the following might apply.

Missing installed fonts: Your collaborators might be using a local font that isn't installed on your computer.
Conflicting versions: Your collaborators could be using a different version (either older or newer) of the font.
Missing font styles: The style might have been omitted in a download, or you might be using a version of the font that doesn't include that particular weight or style.

You can find more information on this topic here: Missing font alert in Figma Design

If you already have this font installed on your computer, please double check the instructions in this guide: Add a font to Figma Design

Alternatively, if you want to use the version stored on your computer, you can select the correct weight in the toggle on the missing fonts warning menu. Please note that this changes the font version for all editors in the file and could result in the same error for others who have a different version installed.

If you're still experiencing issues, I suggest reaching out to our support team for further investigation by submitting this form:

When submitting your request, please include:
• Your Figma account email
• A brief video recording of the issue include the entire window so we can get a better understanding of what you’re seeing.

Thanks again for reaching out.

I had this problem today too. Rebooting figma or rebooting the computer, or reinstalling figma agent didn't work. I think this is caused by the fact that figma agent and the new version of figma are not synchronized on font calls.

It may have something to do with windows changing the font settings entry.
