Copy & Paste Not Working!!!

This is what's happening:

  1. 1. When I try to copy and paste from the browser to the Figma Windows app, the function does not work at all.
  2. 2. When I try to copy and paste inside a figma file using the Windows app, the function still does not work.


The shortcut and right-click options do not work for copying and pasting.

I've had this problem since yesterday. I am using the most recent figma update for the figma windows app, and I checked the browser clipboard option, which does not help me.

Please help me resolve this issue as soon as possible. It's very annoying and makes it difficult to use the app.

I saw a similar report yesterday from another Forum member here: Copy and paste of images doesn't work. That said, I haven’t been able to replicate the issue myself yet.

 

To help us narrow it down further, could you let us know:

  1. Does this happen across all files, or just a specific one?
  2. Are you selecting from the canvas, the layers panel, or both when the issue occurs?
  3. Is it affecting components, images, or other asset types as well?

 

If the issue persists after those checks, the best next step is to connect with our Product Support team so they can take a deeper look. When you reach out, please include:

  • the link to this Forum thread for context
  • a screen recording of the issue (including left/right panels, if possible)
  • a link to the affected file
  • edit access for support-share@figma.com.

It's happening again.
 

  1. It happens with all files.
  2. I am selecting from Canvas.
  3. Yes, it affects components, images, and various other asset types.

I haven’t been able to reproduce the behavior on my end, so I’ve gone ahead and opened a case with our Product Support team to take a closer look. Thanks for the attention, ​@Tom Reem 

The problem was resolved after restarting the system. It appears and disappears from time to time. It's very unusual behaviour.

If the issue occurs again, I will share the screenrecord and link to the editable figma file.
