Issue: Some variable names display a space within the name.

For instance, Colors/Black displays as Colors/Blac k

I am running Figma Desktop App version 124.6.5 on a MacBook Pro (2019).

Has anyone run across this and if so, is there a fix?

It appears that an update is causing this, as previous files are now displaying a space.

The screen below is from a previous file created in October. At the time, there were no space, but now, “90 0” should be “900”, “80 0” should be “800”, etc.

This is the screenshot from my file. I’m using Desktop application. It just happen today. I reopen/close the app, restart my PC but this still exist.

Hope this will be noticed. Thank you!

For 1 word variable, it breaks in the second letter.

For 2 word variable, it doubles the space.

same with me, some of the variables have this kind of issue

same with me

Same here

it seems to be a visual bug, because when you try to rename the variable it displays the correct name (without the space added)

But when released, the space reappears…

Same here.

Same for me. 😟

Hey All, thank you for flagging and so sorry for the trouble!

Our variables team confirmed that this is a bug. Rest-assured, they are already investigating and working on a fix.

We’ll provide an update as soon as we can.

Hey All, thank you for your patience!

Our variables team has launched a fix. Please refresh and let us know if you run into any further issues.

@dvaliao - Please give my thanks to the Variables Team! My variable names look correct now. Any chance we can squeeze in “Export as webP” any time soon? 🙏

Glad to hear that, @David_Galliford!

As for webP, it looks like we have 228 votes from April 2021: WebP support for animated prototyping and export

I’ll do my best to advocate for this to the team, but sadly, I can’t guarantee a specific timeline. 😮‍💨
