I want to have a child connected to a master, which is a combined variant. I need to change that variant with a push transition in a prototype. There are no signs or guides explaining why this feature is unavailable. Does anyone know a hack even if Figma doesn’t prioritize this feature?

This allows other members of our community to vote on your idea, which helps us gauge the level of interest and prioritize accordingly.
Although it might not exactly match what you’re looking for, I’ve found some feature requests related to variant changes from other community members. If any of these align with your thoughts, feel free to vote for them:
- Ability to prototype non-variant property changes
- “Change to” option for layer triggers + Swap instance menu = Codependent layers interactions
