My Figma still shows the old UI, what can I do to upgrade it?

Hi am new to Figma and my question is simple how do I document an existing website with Figma?

One of my Figma project has been deleted, I don’t know why. It looked like it has a problem and the only button I could click on was “close it”. And then, my project was deleted. I cant even find a window with it

Im the admin for our account. I recently deleted a user account due to issues with access. I sent the invite to the user to join again. But when they try to sign up, Figma says the email is in use.

Made a function to search for all instances on the page, and then toggle the ‘Mode’ property values from light to dark, and vice versa. I am trying to achieve the following: Show/Hide an element within a component only on certain frames. E.g. On page 1 show a light bulb, on frame 2 do not show it. I have already one collection of variables used for device type. E.g. Desktop. This works. now I added another collection to the local variables with two modes, containing a boolean variable in each one. I would expect this collection to show up within the layer selector, but only the device collection is showing up. Why?

Hi everyone, I created a design system and one of the components is a notification center. In one of the files that I’m using it, I want to make an alert update based on a user interaction, but I haven’t been able to do it without creating multiple instances of the component for each alert. What I would like to do is to create a string variable that updates based on what the user is clicking, and that variable would directly change the description and alert title. Now, here are some issues. I tried making the description and title as a property of the notification center component. That means I can edit it easily, but I can’t link a local variable to it → not helpful. I also tried creating a string variable in the design system itself and publishing it, in the hopes of editing it directly on the file using the design system, but somehow it doesn’t show up in my variables list. Hey! Is it possible to set this kind of animation in Figma? I built a grid with 10 images and all I want is to set a hover effect on each one of them. The animation goes from black & white image into colorful. At the moment it only work for the whole frame / grid, but that’s not what I’m looking for. Thank you for the help!

I was able to successful make a countdown timer for a project. But when I duplicate this component, which is made to be interactive with itself, into an auto layout, the timer would count back according to how many duplicates exist within the auto layout. For example: If I have 4 timer components in an auto layout, then the timer would count back in increments of 4. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Here are my conditional prototype settings:

Post-Its by default display the creator’s name, which is useful but you should have the ability to turn this off for workshop purposes as a key workshop principle is to keep things anonymous i.e. when we do a post-it session asking everyone to say what’s wrong with something they are more honest because no-one knows who wrote what. 2. Are you able to consistently reproduce it? If so what are the steps? 3. Share a screenshot, recording, console log, link to the file, etc.cln.sh 4. Having a weird issue with Figma. I’m the owner of a file, but I can’t share it. The dialog says I need to request admin approval, and that request is sent to me! Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any solutions?

I can’t even make a simple logo bar that shows logo’s slowly scrolling. With 10 sec cap the logo’s fly like crazy. It seems like a pointless man-made barrier to me. Please remove it or move it up like to a minute or something, just to be on the safe side.

Hello! I accidentally deleted a project with files in it. All the files were supposed to be moved to deleted drafts, but one of them hasn`t. I can’t find this file in my deleted drafts. Also, everyone who had access to edit this file has checked their deleted drafts and did not find this file. Is there anything I can do about this? 🥲

Not the best name I know, but I need the ability to create a new branch from another branch. Right now I have a Main Figma file with my main Product flows and a design system (library) that powers it. I create branches from the main file to derive the main UX, flows and screens from the main file but with some customisation for each client I have. The branches are exactly what I need - these are my draft (WIP) files. But… For handoff it would be awesome to have the Final versions for each client, that way developers and stakeholders can view the latest work and implement (without any sudden changes) and I can also present to stakeholders with confidence that the FINAL work is not going to be messes with by me or any other designers. But at the same time, if there were sub branches it would make it SOOOO much easier to update the sub-branch figma file with the updates coming from the branch/parent file without having to manually select frames and paste them in separate files. Some time in the last few days, it seems I can no longer user ‘command-z’ or control-z on a mac laptop to undo an action. I looked online and found recommendations to go to help → keyboard shortcuts → Layout and make sure it’s set to US Qwerty. It is already set to this. And when I go through the other optioons within that help section, I see no option for ‘undo’ - I’d expect to see it under ‘Edit’, but only see, copy, cut, paste, and other functions

We are undertaking a jamboard import… For accessibility reasons the ‘extreme scroll’ to zoom in with all info in one ‘infinite’ screen is overwhelming for our learners and often leaves them unclear which area to type into. this is why we have never used miro. Is there a feature of FigJam which allows for a more ‘slide’ like appearance the way jamboard does?

Our team is using the Tokens Studio plugin, and looking to shift to Figma Variables as our starting point. Part of this is being able to start with Figma Variables, and use the “Import Variables” feature of the Tokens Studio plugin. The limitation is on the Figma side, namely with the types supported, and what’s available via the API. I will elaborate. I have a beautifully crafted set of Figma Variables that I need to automate getting into Tokens Studio so we can sync tokens to our code repository and transform into various export formats. Because of the limitation of only 4 types available in Figma Variables, any token values with units (i.e. “5px”) have to be of type “String”, which, when imported in Tokens Studio, sets them all as “Text”. Hey there, we are having a very unique use case of populating a Figma template with production data and sharing prototypes and storing the raw the Figma file canvases. Need some help with the approach to build plugins and storing, creating Figma templates, prototypes as a link and store files as and when report is generated. Let me know if you guys have any ideas.
