How to export gif files in Figma wiithout any white border?

I am currently creating a design system with some components and text styles for use in different projects. I created some text styles (xxl, xl etc.) and was wondering if its possible to import these styles into a new file but make changes (change font) without changing the “master” definition. These changes would have to apply to components containing these text styles. The only way i see currently is creating a design system file, which is going to be duplicated every project start, and ditch the whole library.

Just today noticed that all fonts on 50+ components changed to a singular one. Everything else on the document is okay, just this group of components and its variants were somehow triggered. Did this happen because of the multi-edit (useless) tool? Thankfully now it took only about 20 minutes to go through and reset fonts to what they’ve previously been. I cannot imagine how angry I would’ve been if the whole document would’ve been affected.

I am reaching out to inquire about a change I noticed in the Figma API. Previously, when using the API endpoint https://www.figma.com/api/file_metadata/:key, the response included a canvas_url field, which allowed access to important project data. However, it seems that this field is no longer present in the API response. Could you please clarify why this change was made? Additionally, is there any alternative method to retrieve the same data that was previously accessible through canvas_url? I would greatly appreciate any information or guidance on this matter. This is wasting time of so many people and the only way to get this “feature” right is to write a plugin!

I am creating a prototype for a website with a sticky header and a fixed footer that allows a user to scroll the content. I have created a “viewport” which is a standard window size and added 3 top level frames (one for the header, one for the footer, and one for the content). I set the header to sticky, the footer to fixed, and the content to scroll with parent (the parent is the viewport frame which is set to no scrolling). It all works well when I scroll “down” the page. However, when I scroll back “up” the content continues scrolling and I am able to see the frame at the top. Does anyone know how to fix this? To debug, I have tried turning auto layout on and off in the content frame, but this has not helped.

I’m trying to set up a button so that it changes from a disabled to an active state when a certain condition is met. The condition is that at least two components (cards) need to be selected. Currently, I’ve created two string variables: merge-button-state (with a default value of inactive) and card-state (with a default value of default). On each card, I’ve set an “on click” action to set card-state to “selected”, followed by the condition: if card-state == "selected" set merge-button-state to "active" This works if I select just one card, but I want the button to become active only when at least two cards are selected. I’ve also tried creating a variable for each card component, like card1-state and card2-state, but since it’s the same component, this approach doesn’t work. Any idea how to achieve that?

I am trying to do a tab prototype (2 tabs that are in the middle of the page) in desktop, but when i click between the 2 frames, the “content” (tab + the content underneath it) jump up and down between the pages.

Hello, I am updating our company’s design system for creating ad mockups so that it’s easier to use. I’ve been consolidating existing components into a component set with variants. This means I’ve been renaming the components so that properties are created when I turn them into a set. The original components were nested, so there was a master component instance inside each component. I detached the master component instances when creating the sets. Someone accidentally published these changes early, and I’ve noticed that existing instances of these components in other files have detached. I could restore a previous version, but I’m trying to avoid having to redo 5 hours of tedious work that I did after the library was published. Based on the info above, why did the instances detach? Is it because I renamed the components, or because of the nested components that I detached? Would restoring a previous version undo the library published changes?

There has been a bug in Figma prototyping for a long time. I thought they would resolve it soon as it’s a common use by every designer but I’m having doubts now. Am I the only one who is facing this issue? The lightbox is stretching abnormally in the prototype, but this is not the case in the design file. What’s is going on? I checked the settings but nothing is there.

Hi Figma Team and Community, I noticed that Figma recently rolled out the new UI3 update, but unfortunately, I haven’t received it yet. I’ve been keeping an eye on my Figma app and have made sure that it’s up to date, but the new interface still hasn’t appeared for me.

I use FigJam to create diagrams or to ine up variations of my designs for stakeholder review. When I export>selection, I want only my image, usually to drop into a slide deck or doc. But FigJam adds big swaths of blank space around my images. So every time I export I have to use a separate graphics tool to crop out the blank space. Is there a way to set the padding? (I tried making grouping my selection into a Section, but that didn’t change the export properties.) Figma people, please let us set the level of padding in FigJam exports. If you can’t do that, please just set the padding to 0 or 1 px. If I need to frame the image, I’ll add the padding myself. (Having you add the frame is pointless because I’m always going to want to control the width anyway.)

Why is it that in my present view, the screen is kind of zoomed out from the mockup screen, whereas when I put it in preview mode, the screen size actually matches the frame size (430 width -IPhone14 and 15 promax frame). How do I fix this?

Hello, I’m a developer and a bit of a newbie regarding Figma. I’ve been using it for a while now, and so far it has worked great. However, a few days ago, I suddenly became unable to copy image links in the property panel or interact with anything in the property panel at all in all shared projects?. It just automatically copies the names of properties to the clipboard instead of allowing interaction. The same thing happens when I try to download images—it just copies the name of the file instead of letting me access the link. Did I unknowingly turned on some sort of feature? How do I acess images?
