I see past discussions on how to delete plugins and delete from your recents list, but says to clear from “local storage.” How do I find where in my local storage? I’m on a Mac.

Mac Desktop App:
Use the Terminal app to clear the cache.

  1. Quit the Figma desktop app.
  2. Open the Terminal.app and enter the following command: rm -rf "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma/"{Desktop,DesktopProfile}
  3. Try opening the Figma desktop app again.

Thanks, using the second option worked. Just had to close and restart the app afterwards.

Thank you, that worked. Finally!
I thought Figma was a uniquely forward-thinking app, but the way they make it near impossible to simply disable a plugin - having to go this nuclear option and delete all my application data to do it - is unbelievably laborious.

Do you mean remove from recents? Because you don’t need to “disable” plugins in Figma, none of them are active by default, and only a single plugin is active when you launch it manually. So you don’t need to uninstall or remove plugins in any way — if you don’t want to use a plugin anymore just don’t use it.

Removing a plugin from recents is simpler: just activate a bunch of other plugins so the plugin you want to remove is no longer in the list. I usually cycle the recents list multiple times a day as I need a lot of various plugins for different tasks.

Additionally, clearing the cache in the desktop app is as simple as logging out: when you log out of the Figma profile, all your user cache is cleared.

I got a bill for a Figma plugin I didn’t know or remember I had, and wanted to stop that because I wasn’t using it. Thought there would be a simple “disable” button somewhere but instead I had to go searching the forums to figure out how to do it. That kind of thing should be much easier and intuitive than “enable a bunch of other plugins”. Are you saying that would stop the billing? This is the Figma standalone app not the browser app btw

Here’s how I do it:

  1. Open up the web inspector Cmd+Alt+i
  2. choose Application tab
  3. choose Local storage, click the triangle next to it to show child items
  4. click https://www.figma.com
  5. filter by recent
  6. select recent-plugins-figma-design
  7. press delete on your keyboard
or right click the line and choose the delete menu item

The list of recent plugins will refresh immediately!

You need to cancel the billing. Clearing your cache will do nothing. You should be able to cancel from the email you get when you get charged.
