Hi there,

I have a problem. When I share a presentation link of Figma Slide, people can’t open it because they have a 404 error or the page doesn’t load…

It’s very embarrassing because we sent this link to a lot of prospects…

And when I try on my own, it works only in private navigation. But I can’t tell a client to try it on private navigation, it’s not profesional.

Do you have any solution ?

Thanks!

Hey @Corentin6, thank you for reaching out!

Can you please confirm in your share settings the field ‘Who can access’, have you set it to “Anyone” or “Only invited people”? Please make sure you’ve set it to “Anyone”.

If your clients opens a file link and gets a 404 page, the common explanations for this is that they don’t have access to the file.

We recommend the following:

  • Confirm they’re logged in on the correct account
  • Confirm they’ve accepted the invitation to view or edit the file under the correct account

Thanks,
Gayani

Hello Gayani,

Thanks for your answer. But I’m not sure I was very clear. I’m talking about the presentation link in Figma Slide, not the share link to view or edit the file.

They don’t need to have an account to view the deck with this link. So I still have the problem 😕

Do you have an idea ?

Hey @Corentin6, thanks for confirming this and apologies for getting it wrong!

Let me double check this with my team but from my understanding audience members must be logged in to their Figma accounts to be able to open the slide deck. I am guessing that’s why they must be getting the 404 error but I could be wrong. I’ll get back to asap.

Appreciate your patience in the meantime!

Just to be sure, this is the screen about the presentation link.

Hey @Corentin6, I got the following response from the team:

"Link access for Slides should work the same as Figma Design and FigJam files, i.e. if link access is set to “anyone” anyone on the internet with or without a Figma account can navigate to that specific URL and open the page and see the content.

Easy way to test if your link access settings are correct is to try opening the url in incognito or another web browser where you’re confirmed not logged in to any Figma account."

You’ve mentioned that you can open the slide fine in incognito but not in regular browser.
For this we need more hard context to troubleshoot and dig in, along with the URL of the affected file.

I can submit a support ticket on your behalf, can you please confirm if you’re able to share a URL with our support team?

I was having the same issue. The link only opened in an incognito until I unchecked “Viewers can copy, share, and export from this file”
