Hey! So the team informed me that there should be a disclaimer at the bottom of that page that only the files one has access to are visible. So in your case there are a total of 13 files that use this component but you have only has access to 9 of those files. This works same for teams and Instances.

Thanks for the response, Gayani. Does that mean the Design System team will have to get access to all the workspaces, teams, and files to get the complete statistics? Can there be a workaround for this since adding the design system team in all the private files might not be easy within the team.

We noticed that even the person with the Figma Organisation Admin account is seeing this discrepancy in the data. Shouldn’t the Admin given access to the entire data?

Hey @Tarun_Ottur, so I got the confirmation that this is how we respect privacy in the Organization. Even if someone is an admin, they don’t have permission to see the team’s content or files unless they explicitly join.
Also additionally, some files a user may not be able to see are other user’s drafts. We’ll never show the other user’s private drafts.

So you’re right you will need to “get access to all the workspaces, teams, and files” to see the statistics. However, you won’t be able to see when someone uses these components in their draft. There is not workaround for this at the moment.

So I’m curios is it possible to see data about external team using organisation Library?

Ex: Org Plan Team (A) shared Lib with Other Pro plan Team (B), is it possible to owner of Library see components usage (if he got access to file, like you discussed here)

Hi @Gayani_S , in a similar vein of analytics discrepancies, can you help me make sense of these numbers? If looking at total component insertions for the library, it’s around 25,000 for the past 30 day duration. However, the components called button, link, icons, in total are greater than that amount.

I assumed it could be because components like buttons and links and icons are used in other master components. Further looking on the view and explore analytics page, it says “nested components don’t count toward insertions” so it couldn’t be that.

Hey @Veneruso_Annie! I reached out to the team and got some insight that may help clarify this.

It turns out the chart can be a bit tricky to interpret. Each point represents the number of insertions over the previous 7 days (weekly), so it’s showing about 20,000–25,000 insertions per week over the past 30 days—adding up to roughly 80k–100k total. The table at the bottom of the modal should show 30-day numbers that align with that total.

Could you let us know if you were viewing the chart as a rolling 30-day insertion total? And if possible, could you confirm where you’re pulling the total number from on the chart?

Thanks @Gayani_S, I understand. So the “Component insertions” chart when set to a duration of 30 days will display the last 30 days in weekly increments.

The data point on Nov 2, for example, that number is the total number of inserts for the period of Oct 26-Nov 2 (around 21,000).

The total I was referencing was if I added the button, link, and icons “Inserts (30 days)” amounts together, which confused me, as I thought the chart above was reflecting a 30 day value total and not a weekly value total.

Question: So currently, would it be right to assume that to find out the weekly component inserts by component name, it’s currently difficult to do? (Instead of “Inserts (30 days)” something like a “Inserts (7 days)”)

If you’re on an Enterprise plan, the Library Analytics REST API (currently in public beta) does allow for week-by-week analysis.

Specifically, the /component/actions endpoint documented here would have the data you’re looking for: https://www.figma.com/developers/api#library-analytics.
